ok, the car jsut got out of the paint shop last week, after spending 3 months there. shaved antennae, shaved window drip rails, shaved body molding, dupont dodge Deep flame fed color, color sanded, clear coated, buffed.
i havent gotten to take any pics with any nice background yet, but i will
stripes will be done in fall or winter...
and hopefully new rims after x-mas
also view pics at my website http://www.freewebs.com/iroczman15/paintandnewmods.htm and more of a write up

Love the second pic....Parked in front of a door that says NO PARKING!
Oh yeah...I think the aluminum on the firewall, would look better painted red to match the car. The ultimate, would have been to weld in a piece of sheet metal to smooth the firewall.

Re: my IROC has been painted, pics inside
ok, i will certainly get some more pics of the non-drip rails above the window, but in a week, the car is at my grandma's garage, because there are too many vehicles here with my brother home form college for the summer.. but i will be workin on the car this sat; so ill snap a few pics of the drip rails then.. remind me if i do forget...
the rims i have, they are ok, i got 2 as a gift, and had to pay for the other two, and this was 6 years ago, werent my choice, but they have grown on me, and some old school muscle car guys love em.. they are like "dude, were u hitting acid with ozzy ozbourne when u bought those wheels, those things are daaaangerous man" hahah, they are ok for now, once i get some more $, ill look into new rims in the wintertime
i like hte second pic too, that pic means a lot to me.. those BIG garage doors, I built them. just my uncle and I.. there was just a wall there a year ago.. we supported the building with scaffolding and needle beams; setup a hoisting derrick and some chainfalls to pull up the steel, welded rebar on top of the steel, cut out the wall, hoisted the steel into place, setup the joining plates, bolted it up, welded a few areas, and then knocked down the rest of the 12" block wall below the steel.. teh steel is 5/8th" thick, mega steel.. then installed hte garage doors, etc, wild long project, leik 4 weeks for each door, we have one more to do.. the main door is 16'x12', and the side one is 14'x12' openings... we masked out teh lettering and painted no parking on it, and thats when i knew i had to snap a pic of my camaro in front of them..... its at a Diesel Truck shop, this building they bought and are making it a wharehouse for the trucks parts...
-oh yea, tehy did 3 coats of the red paint, with a lot of color sanding in there too, to get rid of the "orange-peel", then 4 coats of clear... with some wet sanding in there too.. hte wet sanding int eh clear coat coats is waht helps make it look deep, and glossy
thanks for hte compliments guys, ill be sure to get pics of the deleted drip rails in a week or so, especially some pics at the East Coast Fbody Nationals in Nj, in 2 weeks from now

Re: my IROC has been painted, pics inside
and also... about the aluminum on the firewall: i did that on purpose.. i could have taken teh easy way out and cut some stock sheetmetal or aluminum, painted it red, and went with that, but then there would be a big red empty area
instead; i chose to buy a 2'x2' piece of Brushed Aluminum, 1/8"th thick, with a niiiice verticle grain to it, i cut the piece to fit the firewall shape, and filed the edges smooth.. installed it with 5 nice dress bolts and washers.. up cloe it looks real good. and i liek it; cuz soon im guna get a black plaque made up, engraved with red writing.. 1987 IROC-Z Camaro about 8"x8" and itll look even better
ive seen people cover up holes in the firewall with some sheetmetal, but i wanted to go a different, way, with some nice brushed aluminum, just my style i guess

Car looks great but DAMN I hate those wheels. I'm pretty picky about wheels though and it seems you're already planning on ditching 'em so... nice IROC!

drip rails are rails that would run along the roofline above the window and stop water from dripping inside

Re: my IROC has been painted, pics inside
here are a few pics of the drip rail delete mod...for those of u curious about it
u can see em in this pic, as i was wet-sanding down the car,, they are the thin(3/8"th) strip of metal on the rood line, that keeps the water drips out if u have the windows down

and after paint
