Another fixer-upper, my gf's IROC-Z
This would be the 3rd car that my dad and I have fixed up, except we won't sell it. It's not our car, in fact it's my girlfriend's '87 IROC-Z.
She bought it not too long ago from a friend of mine in IL, and it desperately needed a paint job and a good cleaning. She had the interior steam cleaned and put clear corners and new front turn signals on it to kind of freshen it up.
A few weeks ago she parked it at my house so we could start working on it. I've got it just about stripped all the way down. I still have to pull the front bumper cover off and take out the grill and such, but the rest of the car is ready to be sanded down. I took off the rear bumper cover, all the ground effects, mirrors, door sills, etc.
What's really cool about her car is the color we chose to go with. It's called Spice Red Metallic, and is found on 2006 GTO's. It's a dark metallic red. I think it will pop with the chrome IROC wheels and tan interior. And by the way, she'll be selling the tan cloth seats because I bought her tan leather T/A seats from a 4th gen, so her car is really going to be unique.

Tell me about it...when you get a girl with an Fbody...it sucks. The cost of gifts sky rocket! lol and thats all my gf wants is car parts, she wants 3.42s for her birthday now...or remote start.
Get some pics up, and that is a sweet color ive always thought it was. The GTOs have some really nice exterior colors.

My girl always wants to ride in my car, and wants to get one when we get married so she can ditch her neon. lol. best part is, she said it has to have 3 pedals. lets see some pictures once you get some paint on that thing.

Is that the maroon one with the gold wheels? That's a really pretty car... your definition of "needs paint" is pretty different form mine!

Re: Another fixer-upper, my gf's IROC-Z
You talkin about the maroon one that we sold a while back? This one:

Cuz I'm talkin' about her car, it's bright red with chrome wheels:

But yea, her car definitely needed paint. The whole hood was nothing but gator skin, and there were spots where the paint literally flaked off all over the place. Plus she had a lot of door dings. Pictures like to hide nasty flaws, but I assure you it needed paint.
