i just sent the car off to a guy i found to do my body work and paint. should be 4 weeks and i'll have a finished painted car. he now does cars as a hobby, used to be his business. here are some of the pre paint photos

Are you keeping the car red or going with something different? Sounds like this guy works out of his garage--have you seen his work before? Any satisfaction guarantee?

 

i've seen his work. i checked on it today and he is doing some wonderful body work. he takes an extreme amount of pride in his work. it is out of a 3 car garage. i'll post pics as they come.

bigdave, i think your gonna be REAL happy when you get it back, the stinger hood really impressed me once it was painted. and as far as the paint coming out good, i'm 18, had NO bodywork/paint experience, only lots of sanding skill from working on old boats, and i got a homedepot gun and took a deep breath, said here goes nothin, and it came out good, so your car should look great. cant remember if you said what color its gonna be? and im looking forward to some finshed pics!

 

Well I have a few pics but my computer has a virus. I'll be working on getting that fixed today. I'll post pics soon. Sail can u send more pics of yours to me? Love yours by the way. The color is PPG wildfire that I'm going with. I will be putting a single strip down the center starting at the front of the hood going back to the bumper, that will be black. Should be real sharp!

why is it going to take 4 weeks, thats kinda long for a paint job isnt it?

 

cause he fits in other jobs at the same time. it's not his only thing going, and why rush anyways? but, i did just drop 500+ on weatherstripping, that sucked!

That looks awesome! How many coats of clear coat? Cant wait to see pics of it all put back together. Are you going to put new IROC and stripe stickers back on?

 

2 coats of clear and no stickers. I have stainless steel emblems but I don't think they will fit right so I am going to get nos emblems. I don't know wether to get blk or red??
