start-to-finish
well, i thought since i am nearing the end, i'd start a thread for my car. "seems like the thing to do". a little background first, i bought the car in 1997, my first year inside the Marine Corps. I started the mods when i went to Iraq for the first time in 2004. I then finished most of the drivetrain off my second trip to Iraq in 2005. Then i moved to michigan for recruiting duty in 2006 and it has been on hold. Just up until recently i have begun to get things going again. After the body is done, i will move onto the interior which will stay close to stock. Then some track times. so i hope you all enjoy the pics, feel free to say what you like, and what you don't.

Re: start-to-finish

expected to be all in primer by monday, with block sanding on tuesday and start spraying paint by wednesday. i'll make a trip to get all in primer pics and then paint. holy cow, i didn't realize how much weatherstripping cost. i ordered all new t-top, inner door, and outer door seals. plus i got the clear side markers and new front turn signal lenses. i will be polishing my tail lights tomorrow. after 11 yrs, its finally all getting done.

last one till the hood is done.

hood is getting painted tonight. next two days will be all buffing. some of the rear shots are only 1 buff. he is planning on buffing the whole car twice. car looks absolutely beautiful. can't wait to get it into the sun. so......what do you all think.

Re: start-to-finish
well you see, what happened was i ordered the correct front ground effect but was shipped the wrong one. i ordered from hawks....i was in iraq and my father in law had already put it on the car. so to send it back and deal with that pain, i said forget it. plus i actually like the different angle the front rake is on the 91-92 gfx. as for the rear vents on the chin spoiler......i like them, but if i switch the side rockers then i have to also change the rear bumper. i like it the way it is, just a little different then everyone else.

Re: start-to-finish
the seats i bought in cali from a friend of my father in law, i have absolutely no idea what brand. i paid 200 for the set. i think they are the summit racing leather seats...but not for sure. and thanks for the thanks......i might be headed back over to the desert for my third time within the next year. don't know yet on that. semper fi

Re: start-to-finish
well the interior is going to take 2-4 wks to get here. but i did get the nose/z28 emblems and also the spohn rear sway bar with drop brackets.

for some reason the pics of the z28 emblems wont load up. they are silver and should look good. i should be picking the car up tomorrow so i'll post pics of it with everything back on. stay tuned.

WOW!!! Absolutely amazing brother. I really like how it turned out, can't wait to see it once the interior is finished.
BTW, thank you for your service and welcome home brother. I served in the ARMY and I know of all the hard work that you and your FAMILY have put in to those tours of service.

Dave, if your painting the wheels black you have got to put a red pinstripe on the lip! That would look really KILLER!!!

i'm not painting the wheels, but the wheel wells. i think that would be different though, black rim with red outline. however, it might look to importish. chrome rims are in the future. just don't know exactly when though.
