1989 Formula Refurb

I have had the car on TGO when I bought it a month or so ago, but I thought it would be better to start a new thread to show the updates as I go. So far, the car has been to the shop, had new injectors installed and a new gas tank. I took it over to the paint shop on Friday 12/18. They are going to fix the clear issues and repair the fender damage done by the repair shop. I have also purchased a new set of seats (dark gray), an additional set of wheels, but I am not sure I will keep them as I have ordered a set of the repro R15 wheels that OER is offering. A new dash pad, trunk pull mechanism and steering wheel will also be going in once I get it back from paint. I'll keep this updated as I go.

Re: 1989 Formula Refurb

Well, things change I guess. I am finalizing a deal on a 91 5.7 Formula, so something will have to go.... Come spring, don't be surprised to see the maroon car in the for sale section. It does not have the original LB9 motor (still an LB9 though), so it would be a perfect car for a swap. It is as clean of a car as you will find body wise.

Re: 1989 Formula Refurb

Finally got the 89 back from paint, and it looks great. Sorry, no pics yet as it is Indiana, and I haven't washed it. I did get the seats removed today and will be putting in the black seats next weekend. I also got the old dash pad changed out, which looks much better....

Old pad...

new one in...

Re: 1989 Formula Refurb

I had some time today, so I got the interior put in, the hood struts changed and the electric hatch pull down replaced. I put a picture of the car below, but it is really dirty. Paint will be nice looking when I get it cleaned up and the new decals are on.

Thanks. Not bad for $100 seats....LOL. I was worried how it would look with the grey carpet, but it looks ok.
