Happy Happy, Joy Joy!!!

After nearly 2 1/2 months, I finally got to take a trip to Largo MVA and get my tags. Damn the line was long but I got my tags!

Now, I have some OTHER things to worry about...

- The car needs shocks and struts BADLY!

- The car needs an alignment BADLY!

- It pulls HARD RIGHT when you hit the brakes hard. An inexperieced driver would wreck it if he/she had to stop hard.

- Over half throttle, she breaks up BAD above 3500 RPM. The car sat for 2 years so Im hoping that it just has a bad load of gas in it. After I tuned it up, I put 3 gallons of 87 octane, so that probably didnt help things much. Not to mention that it probably needs the injectors cleaned...

Basically, Im happy now, considering I spent over $1000 getting her road ready, including rebuilding the transmission myself.

Anyone gonna be out Glen Burnie this weekend?

I'll take pics maybe tomorrow after I get it cleaned up some...

I put some 93 in it today and it cleared up. Let it sit, the water settles at the bottom, and it runs like crap. I meant to get some dry gas, but I picked up 2 bottles of fuel injector cleaner instead . I will get some tomorrow .

Ah yes the wonderful "I just got tags on the car I worked on for so long "feeling. I know it well. Back in April 2002, I got my 83 Camaro tagged after doing the engine swap over the past three years. Even though I'm still fixing parts of it, I felt good the day I rolled down the road legally.

Ahhh yes. Nothing beats the feeling of driving it legally. It sure beats doing a burnout in the street and getting "semi" caught by P.G. County Police...

UPDATE!!!

I cleared up the breaking up problem. Seems the person I bought the car from never changed the fuel filter. She runs like a totally different car now.

The brake pulling has been traced back to a sticking caliper. That will be fixed soon.

The alignment problem? WAY TOO MUCH TOE OUT! I might adjust it by eye it until I can get it to the alignment shop.

Poor GTP. She's been sitting in one spot all week. I fired it up on Saturday and it fired right up! That hasnt happened for a while. She even idled smoothly for once. It has a bad IAC valve on it so I was surprised. I think she's a lil jealous...
