Power at the Point / Thirdgen Nationals info here!

Hey guys, Looks like the weekend of September 23rd/24th will be the winner for our gathering.

As it looks like you guys have a get together at the end of this month I am planning on semi-combining the TGnats and Power at the point picnic, like this:

Thirdgen Nationals
September 23rd 2006
Cecil County Dragway

Power at the Point Picnic
September 24th 2006
North Point State Park

The Nationals - will be also TnT day for the track so we don't get hammered on renting the track out. Last year it was wide open though, most folks got to hot lap. Great track and it's easy to get to. You would pay at the gate for the usual TnT fees.

The Picnic - would be the following day at our usual park, I am looking into having it catered out and still working out the numbers on wether or not we can do it. Cost to be determined, but MUST be a prepaid. I got stuck with the bill last year and it was anything but pretty.

T-Shirts - T-shirts will also be pre-paid. I still have a TON of TGNats 05 shirts, almost one for every day of the month. I don't want to get hammered again so they will be preordered/prepaid.

So, who can make it?!? We need to get a honest headcount together so arrangments can be made.

I like how your doing it this year. I will be at both with the new z28.

I am not sure about the picnic I put together if its going to happen because no ones made a real effort to make it. Eric I know you know all about this unfortunitly and I can tell by your planning you are doing things a little different because of it lol.

So let me know on cost and I will paypal it on over. I will let everyone know at Churchville tonight....

(Rick, Mike, other Rick, Joe and his wife, etc.)

For a general heads up and I think everyone else should do this too...

My names Mike, I will have a primered 91 Z28 and my mother will probaly bring my teal 91 RS I had last year to the picnic but not the raceway.

Also what time during the day should I tell everyone to show up at these events?

I'm still on vacation and my date book is at home.

Can't think of any scheduling conflicts, but let me take a look before I commit.

Eric, do you have any other shirts besides large. I've lost quite a bit of weight, but not enough to fit into large, yet.....

BTW, I never raced at a 1/4 mile track with a Xmas tree, etc.... don't know if I'm up for embarassing myself or not. If I do the race thing, might just watch y'all.

Thanks for posting this up Eric.

You said you were gonna handle it, you have not been keeping up with it, updating on it, and its just kinda got faded thats why i for one have shown a lack of interest.

All you asked for where ideas of location and whos gonna come, plenty have gave you responces on that. I did not know this was a "WE" event, i thought it was something that you were going to put on...

see ya there, somewhere!

We talked about this event at the latest Friday night cruise @ Lowes in Abingdon. Got some interested folks that would like to come, and probably will if they don't decide to go to something else.

The dates have been posted for a month and a half, and as Steve said the times and other details will be ironed out by the end of the weekend.

Blue - probably around 12, so everyone has enough time to get out there.

Whenever someone posts somthing about times and details that someone has already said will be arrange at the end of the week it makes you wonder why your trying to figure out what time you want to be at the track. If your still ironing things out nothing is absoultly for sure. As for me it doesnt matter if you get their at 9 or 12 or 2 just as long as you get their. At any rate ill just wait till the end or the week then before i say anything.......

Hey Maryland People

Last year many of us met at the park n ride lot next to Ikea at White Marsh Mall and caravanned down to the Park. If anyone is interested in doing this again, post it up here!

We'll probably meet around 10AM Sunday, September 24th.

It looks like we will be attending the picnic. We might be also going to the track but it's up in the air. I have not modified much in the way of performance since my last outing so I'm looking at low 14s again probably. I will also have to mount some baloanies on an extra set of rims for the outing. Is there a ralley point for that day too.

I don't recal seeing a price yet on the picnic. Any ideas yet? Maybe we'll just pass around a bucket of chicken and a 2 liter. Finger lickin good!!

Does anyone who is going to the picnic or the track have experience with reading bins and scanning software??

later

I am trying to get together a caravan for those folks that live in or around the Harford county areathat are going to the picnic on Sunday. We can meet at the Lowes parking lot in Abingdon. It's where the friday night cruise goes on now. Or possibly gather at the IKEA in Whitemarsh. For more info go to the Cruise thread down below.

There are so many TGN threads now I can't keep them straight. I posted this same thing in one of them, meeting at the park n ride at Ikea. So far, no one has replied. Gotta feeling we'll be finalizing this at Lowes on the Friday before.

My proposal was to meet at Ikea at 10 AM (or there about) and head on down to the park.

Good idea on the ikea thing, I think there are a few folks keeping an eye on that and were planning on meeting there. I would like to do it but doubt that I can make it as I will be at the park getting setup.

Okay folks, here's a couple quick updates.

Shirts are in, along with the trophies!

I have a wedding to attend on Saturday AM, so Steve86TA will be in charge on Saturday. If you need shirts or anything Saturday, he is the one to talk to. If you prepaid for a shirt and want it on Saturday, PM me if you have not already done so. Steve will also have a few extras on hand as well.

If you have NOT prepaid for Sunday's picnic and show by now, just bring it with you. There will be a check in desk at the show area with a list of all who have prepaid/who bought shirts/etc. Rates will be the same, and will be the same regardless of arrival time. I do want to say a big thanks to all that prepaid to get this off the ground, so I will be handing out a draw ticket to those that prepaid when they check in. We will probably draw for a tshirt or as domestic driver e-zine graciously volunteered to donate a few subscriptions, that will be in there as well.

Weather and rain dates. It looks right now as though we *might* get a scattered tstorm or so, the show will go on. I will be buying a few extra easy-ups so we have some shelter if it does end up raining any.
