I tint and smoke tail lights and other lights. I live in Baltimore, MD. I don't use VHT niteshades or window tint. When I do it I use automotive clear coat with gloss black paint mixed in spray with a HVLP paint gun. Then, I wet sand and polish to a high gloss shine. They take 2-3 days to complete since I do not have anywhere to bake them, I have to let them sit to dry before wetsanding. Prices range $50 up to $80 depending on what kind of car the lights are from and how dark you want them. I am, also, willing to trade for camaro parts if you have anything I need. My name is Tim. Don't try baking them, very minimal heat will warp the lenses on something somewhat flat without a lot of shape like 3rd gen taillights (ask me how I know, my TA lights are all wavy from being left inside the hatch on my TA).
Also, you should do the inside panels on the camaros, they look incomplete not as shiny as the taillights.
Have you tried starting with a soft block when sanding? I've sanded the markers and other lights dead flat before polishing them up before, and they look much better (it gets rid of some of the waviness that you see in your pics)
I just had my lights done and they came out excellent. I highly recommend his services. He even installed a new decal for me. Its a bit difficult to see without direct sunlight but its tinted dark enough to hide any delamination but light enough to still see the factory pattern.
