Looking for a L98 block...

Anyone have a L98 roller block they can part with?? Or know where there is one at a reasonable price in South eastern MI or Northern OH or Fort Wayne IN?????

I havent purchased a 87+ block before, just older ones. Is $100-150 about right?

My freind has a 350 block that he is not using. It is just the block nothing else, well maybe the crack, I think he wants about 200 for it. If this is what you want we live around Chicago i'll ask him if we wants to sell it.

Sorry man, the L98 is the 350. A lot of people end up having to give away their 305 to get it out of the garage... bummer

I heard that I can stroke a 305 to a 340
is that true? what if I used a 340 stroked 305 to make my turbo motor out off? I think that I would have flow problems because of the small bore what do you think?

thanks
rick

I think you answered your own question

Start with a 350 or 400 block

So if anyone has an L98 block, now would be a great time to speak up.

I have free machine work for the next 3 weeks.

I have an "880" Vortec block. It's in the trunk of my Caprice right now.

4 bolt mains, roller cam, 1pc rear seal.

But I'm southwest, MI. I can take pictures of the bore and casting number if you want verification.
10243880...350...95-00...2 or 4...Vortec truck, Gen.I crate motors and "ZZ4", roller cam, one piece rear seal
*edit* Just found the rest of it. Crank, rosd (caps are mixed up), pistons on rods, factory roller valve train, and vortec "906" heads.

how about an offer, and what you want included ?

right now it is complete, but I will take off whatever you dont want.

If you dont want to make an offer please at least tell me what you want included if anything and I will research and try to figure out what it is worth.

Right now I'm just halfway searching for a bare block to "possibly" throw a 383 rotating assembly into. Nothing else needed but the cam thrust plate. Must be two bolt block... MN isn't to far for me. I travel up to the home office in Bloomington once a month or so... How far awy is Lake City???

Im looking for just the block. Doesn't need to have anything on it. Even if the oil galley plugs are out that's fine. Let me know how much your lookign to get for just the block. Maybe we can work something out, IE a trade or something. I'll even disassemble it for you.
