Speedvision taping show at CFR Sat. Oct 16th

They're opeing the gates at 9am for the fil crew and racers for the program. Gates for spectators/T&T cars open at 12pm, but scheduled first race for taping at 10:30am so I'd imagine folks can get in early.

Link for CFR website and info's about middle of page. They're looking for guys to come out and help make the pits look full so if ya aint got nothing going on, might be fun to watch and posibly get your car in for a filler...who know??!!

It was very gay!!! Track naturally catered to the film crew, so all the guys that came down from MN were upset they only got about an hr all day to run-film crew wanted silence when their cars were'nt running.

First race 67 GTO a guy bracket races with at Union Grove in Wis., runs 9's in the 1/4. Opponent was a 192? coupe pulled outta the woods in august and thrown together for this show. Racing was best 2 of 3, first race the GTO lost an axle so he was basically done, but lined up anyways. He "lost" his car but after filming was done got it back for $100.

Second race was between the same coupe from first race since the real opponenet never showed, and a guy from New Hampton iowa with a 85 or so Olds Delta 88. So now we have 2 cars that are completely junk racing each other, either guy would be lucky to lose so they would'nt have to tow these junk cars back home. Anyways, guys with the Delta 88 got hustled and final taping in stagin lanes got ugly with cusing and namecalling. I was hopeing for blows since I spent all day freezing to watch a gay production and junk cars run, but they never went that far. Soon as the camera was off the "host" told the guy that lost, "the car is still yours-dont get so upset about it"

We left before the 3rd race (it was already 6:30pm now and we'd been freezing sine 9:30am out there) I guess it was between 2 3rd gens and supposedly the guy that lost this race actually lost his car. The car I did see was a early 90's white firebird convertible, did'nt see the other car. I hope at least that guy kept the car to make it legit.

Track said if they tape there again, it will be warmer and they[re not going to schedule a T&T or anything else, basically let the film crew have the track to themsleves, but unless the cars get alot nicer than what I saw, the show will be short lived, cuz who wants to watch junk cars??? especailly knowing most of it is "staged"

the first 2 races were bull****. but the race i did was not. you guys should have stuck around.

we were the guys with the huge white enclosed trailer and baby blue truck right next to you. it wasnt 2 third gens. it was my 2000 formula ls1 against a 97 lt1 car.

the lt1 was a legitament RACE car gutted to the max and i show up with my full weight STREET car. The guy with the lt1 was a complete *****. If the show does air it will be the only one worth watching. let me refrase that. it is gonna be so good it will be the most watched single show ever aired on speed.

Did you make any passes before the taped race? REally did'nt pay much attention to what was going on since i was all over theplace talking with track crew and trying to stay warm, that was brutal Sat. The car that really impressed me was that silverish Supra with the mirror tint windows. Only reason he did'nt beat to the finish line was my ridiculous .469 red light agasint him during a time trial session, he ended up running 11.12 at 129.??mph, that little ricce burner hauled some butt!!!

Wife and I were so cold by the taping of the last race, and given how gay they were, I thought the last race would be a farse too, so we left. I wish you woulda told me you were on this board, we would've made it a point to stick around-think we'd a been in the tower again for the last race though as cold as it was!!! The track held up surprisingly well considering the 48* air temp and 25mph winds, crew did a great job for starting line prep during the T&T with the VHT then hitting it with the torch-actually got my best 60' since I put these friggin monster truck tires on the back. Going back to 28" DOT slicks out back to get my gear ratio back now that the cars suspension is working since I updated it.

So you actually got to keep the car?? or was it a buddy deal when you got back home-be honest!! If my buddy and I would've known it was gonna be the way it was, we'd a entered just for the fun of it-really make a production when "negotioating. So what are the plans for the newly aquired camaro? Was that the car you raced-green colored one that pulled up behind me in the pit area next to your hauler that had stickers on it? Did ya have to sucker him at all for car length or did he have to spot you?

And speaking of hauler, who picked out the color for that rig LOL!!! One very badazz truck inideed, but the robin egg blue is...aaaa....different
