Well? what do u guys think? I know that there was a ton of interest in this before. I think they had it down to St. Louis i think its called Gateway Speedway or something? anyone remeber what was going on with the subject? Id love to see this happen, if not this summer, maybe next.

Gateway is way too expensive. The NMCA, NSCA and the NMRA are not going there this year because they jacked the price so much.

A midwest gathering would be cool, but there are lots of big regonal shows and stuff that could kinda already be considered midwest gatherings. Im talking about a country wide gathering. Like all 50 states. I thik that Gateway was being considered because it is pretty much in the middle of the country and its a big, nice track. obviously this will take a lot of cash and people too pull off. What about the possibilty of sponsership of the event. Like super chevy always has a big main sponser like Year One of something. How about Next Generation (part of year one) or a magazine, like McMullen/Argus who puts out Super Chevy and GM High Tech Performance. magazine coverage of the event is almost garunteed if it gets serious. Tell everyone you know on the boards to check out this post. Lets get this thing rolling!
I am always up for a thirdgen gathering. I think it would be much easier to set up if it were just a midwest gathering. Even though a national one would be cool. Between all of the people who live in the midwest on this board plus all the thirdgenners from mfba we could aways have a decent size midwest gathering.

ok i would totally be into this, but if it is just going to be a mid-west gathering we have to first pick a place to go. then rent it out. i know that with gateway you have to reserve that track like almost a year in advance and pay upfront. so that meas a lot of people would have to commit to this idea. oh and BTW, can we wait a few years i want to get my project done first.

Dont worry Velocity, I got her under control
hahahaha. Shes nothing to worry about
89, better hurry up man, we can't wait forever. If we get a national gathering going, id like to make it a yearly or bi-yearly event. Make it like a Super Chevy kinda thing or like The Bloomington vette show or something. maybe move it to a different track each year or something. I think that this website is definitly the way to set this up. Almost everyone on the web that is into 3rd gens is here. I think we need to make a whole new forum for this topic though. Anyone else second that?

considering the amount of time and effort it'd take i doubt if you see a true national gathering this year. macgyver has one planned for the week end of june 29 this year. it'll be big ,it'll have something for everyone. check it out and make plans now www.nethirdgen.org
