thats nothing new, there doing it all over the U.S now. i agree 22's 24's are to big for these cars thats why i put 20's on mine and would not go any bigger myself. even people hate the sight of seeing 20 inch rims on these cars but whatever its there opinion. i tell you what though, this car handles better then it ever did.

 

The 20's look good on your car. It's sits really good,which I think helps to pull in off.

 

yeah i dont mind it, did it mostly for the show's but to be honest if i was going to do it again and spend all that money i would have went the muscle car look. still thinking about it. love the handling though. and if i put skinneys on the front and big's on the back the handling wont be so good.

 

A 24" wheel would need a 245-20-24 tire to keep the stock tire diameter - in other words, about 1.75" of total sidewall...

Seriously, with the third gens, the 17" wheel is about optimal, but you can go bigger (18") if you have front coil overs and want to run a 275-40-18 rear tire. Anything else is asking for both broken wheels and worse than a truck ride (and handling).

 

Bet it rides like crap. Stiff as hell, no give whatsoever. Might as well replace the springs with rods & take off the tires.

Wouldn't change the ride.

20's are pushing it (for my style) i think 17's are plenty. your 20's are nice rims, just a little to big for me. but nice car none the less!

 

with normal wheels that car should get 5k easy I think if that is a legitimate paint job.

 

Bigger wheels do not mean better handling... they mean more unsprung weight in general (which is a very bad thing.) At a guess, 16-18 inch wheels are probably best for our cars, the only reason to fit large is to put larger brakes on... brakes that large are overkill unless you're auto-crossing or doing track days.

v6 4th gen....on 24's....with handicap tags.....just....wow....

 

Theres a 3rd gen around where i live that has custom paint, its camouflage with a 10 point buck head painted on the hood! The paint was killer i love the paint job just not the 24s on it! i looked at that an told my wife, paintjob is really sweet, the car is sweet, but the rims......make it look like a tonka toy!

haha i agree 100% and IMO anything over 18" is just wrong. Go buy a Honda if you want to put 24's on it.

 

If its not your car why the hell are you worried about it. It all boils down to personal preference. If you like big rims buy them if not don't. Its as simple as that.

Personally, I wouldn't put anything over 20's on my car just because its not optimal for the way I like to drive.

::yikes:: theres a guy around here has a 4th gen as well, he started out with the big rims and fake fender grills and the next time i saw him he put this ridiculous bodykit on the car, to try and make it look lower.
