hey all, how are ya?

Im new to this forum, been here bout a week.

I'm 22 living in olney section of philly.
I bought my 1988 camaro rs in november of 2010 for $900

I think i did good on the deal, runs and drives great. was doing 60 on the route 1 (boulevard) and felt like i was doing 20.

Well as you can would imagine, she's not perfect. has a couple dings and dents, but nothing too bad, she still looks good.

I cant wait to driver her, all i need to get are my license for 1 and a new turn signal relay. I HOPE.(i dont have my license yet because i have diabeties and was being an idiot and not taking care of it, but now im on the medicine and feel great now, and now alls i gotta do is go take my written test and get it)

I have never worked on an actual car before but i have worked on the 1/10, 1/8, and currently a 1/5 scale rc cars. I know they are nothing alike but the r/c cars have given me, i guess u would say a pinky toe in the door.(lol) But i believe i can do most of the work myself, thank god i found this website, lots of useful and helpful information. and the people here are awesome.

example- having a tough time figuring something out, rant about your problem on a thread and someone will sure enough pop up and tell you whats going on and how to make the job and your life a little easier

Just kidding. Good luck. If you have any problems with the car that you can't figure out you can just ask them here because the people here have done it a thousand times over. Get crazy with the search feature because theres a lot of back information that you can read up on.

i got my camaro cuz its kind of a family tradition with my brothers and plus i love camaros, all of their first cars were camaros. technically my first car was a 70' oldsmobile cutlass and a 70' buick electra. my dad put them in my name when i was like 2. lol

i sold the buick for $2300 and bought my camaro.

the cutlass is sitting in my garage waiting for me to fix her up. she was my dads favorite and i want to fix her up as a tribute to my dad who past away back in 01

its good to find some local guys in the philly area with third gens. i have a 87 iroc and i love it to death. will never get rid of it till the day i die. tho it does need some work, if any guys wanna make extra cash to help me fix it. i have a nice size garage and alot of tools.

 

im in, im just starting out fixing my camaro, and will be getting a haynes repair manual tomorrow. im looking for someone who will help me learn.

now im not looking for cash, just experiance and fun with fixing my camaro and as well as helping others

hey there. been lapsing on checking TGO, havent really gotten around to yknow, getting a license, so getting my own has been difficult. (espicially while unemployed)

im near Lincoln HS. Cottman/Frankford. Wish there were more enthusiasts around.

yea i just noticed that theres a firebad that lives near me, i wish i knew whos it was.

and boy, i had a scarry drive just now, was coming home and went to stop and slid through the red light. when it starts raining it is the worst time to drive, all the oil comes to the surface. "personal note' first pay check, NEW TIRES

Now that my car is on the road again, I have been looking to go to some shows and cruises. What all is going on in the Philly area?

 

We just did the cruise nite in warrington yesterday.Thats the 3rd sat of the month.We also do Bristol on rt413 the 1st sat of the month.
