3rd Gen odometer

Let's see how good some of you are with the mileage that's on your odometer. Of all the TGs you have owned, how many miles were on it when you got it, how long have you had it, and what's ur current odo reading?

I'll start:

84 TA 5sp - 139k.. drove for 8 months.. sold with 152k
86 Firebird - no idea..drove for 1year.. totaled with unknown mileage.
86 TA - 111k Jul 13, 1998.... Still have it to this date with 154k on the body
86 Z28 - 188k.. had for 3 yrs.. sold with 196k
91 RS - 94k.. owned for 8 months.. still has 94k... No motor yet

Re: 3rd Gen odometer

89 Chevy Camaro 17,xxx on odometer but was at least 117,000. Could have been 217,000 didnt get to meet the owner. Bought it from a donation company. I turned it over twice now, so I either have 317,000 or 417,000 on it. of course I have rebuilt the transmission, engine, rearend, suspension, etc. the engine has 65,000 on it. Transmission has a years worth of driving probably around 10k on it. Daily driver!

oh and I repainted it back in Dec 01. needs another paint job as y'all can see. Not bad for a garage paint job though

Re: 3rd Gen odometer

Well I have an 89 RS with 3700 miles on it, the 3rd time around.. so its more like 203,698 miles. I have no idea if the trans/engine or anything else was replaced during the time before I owned it. When I become rich, I want to replace all the suspension, engine, trans, tires, new paint job.. yeahhhhh

I am pretty sure I bought the car with 189,000 on it 3 years ago. Most of the miles I put on my car was driving from NJ to NY like 6 times, 800 miles round trip.

Not really. Wasn't it a paperweight for like 4 of those years?

Re: 3rd Gen odometer

Bought a new '88 Cmaro RS w/ 2.8L & T5 (0 miles) in May 1988. Traded it in June 2001 w/ 295K on original engine and trans. Kicked myself in the butt until July 2011 when I bought an used '87 Camaro RS w/ 2.8L & T5 (odo= 35K miles ). Same color, everything. Couldn't pas up the opportunity.

Dirtiest car I've ever worked on. Previous guy never did his own work. But, all in all, it's a keeper. Thing could have 535K miles for all I know. Lots of wear and tear on the usual items, which I am systematically working to replace. Body is sound, so it's has a great base to start.

Re: 3rd Gen odometer

Bought my 85 4bbl back in May and had "96000" on the odo but it has a cluster from a v6 bird in it so who truly knows what the actual mileage was. But since picking it up its rolled over to what i believe would be 1056xx if it were infact 96k. So almost 10k miles in ~6 months (i average about 100 miles or so a day due to work).

Re: 3rd Gen odometer

The 2nd engine was rebuilt, rearend was rebuilt, and the 2nd tranny was used... Going with a T56 this time. Tired of dealing with slipping slushomatic's.

i love my automatic especially with the vigilante. she is responsive. especially with the b&m shifter. not saying the shiter makes the tranny shift better because it doesnt. but the control and not having to worry about misshifting is great.

I hate my auto... Edge 2900 RPM stall, with a tranny cooler. Last tranny had a shift kit and meh. Still an automatic.
