Need local help with code 34 problem
I currently have a code 34 problem with my car for six weeks now. I cannot figure it. Have replaced the MAF, Computer, MAF power relay, and burnoff relay all with no sucess and have checked every vaccum line and gasket on the car.
The car is now totally unreilable and totally useless. So I have a car with a $5,000 paint job that does not run.
Does anyone local have a scanner or willing to lend a hand. I am also willing to take it to a mechanic. Can anyone recommend one?

I live in Hoffman Estates, IL (near Schaumburg)
Someone please help!!
Thanks,
Brian

And if you can't figure it out, I know a really good shop in Villa Park that I'm sure could help ya out. If my car is running by the time you decide to do that, I could give ya a ride back home
Not to assume you're stupid or anything, but have you cleared the codes by disconnecting the battery since you replaced the relays? I had a code 34 after I ran a few days with my MAF unplugged. It was still having trouble even after I plugged it back in until I disconnected the battery to clear the codes in memory..

Thanks for the replies!!!
Yes, it is driveable, but it contastly stalls when at idle, the longer I drive it the worse it runs. But I can definetly make it to Villa Park.
camaro_60181 Do you have any time tomorow? If not whens a good time for you?
Also, I have definetly reset the computer and cleared the codes. Actually, After I do a reset it runs fine for about one hour's worth of driving and then all the problems come right back.
I really appreicate everyone's help!!!
Thanks

I had a similar problem as you, however when my SES light came on the car had no change in idle or performance. Yet, I got a code 34 just like you.
The wireing to my MAF burn off relay was all corroded and nasty. I have a "bucket o' harness" if you need some connectors off it. Can't gaurentee what you need is in there, but the offer is open.

I am heading over to camaro_60181's place to do a scan today. Fruity 1, I may take you up on your offer since it does seem to be a problem in the loom or on a connector.
When you changed connector on the Burnoff relay did that solve your problem?
Thanks,

Yeah, I also did a great deal more when I did that.
EGR, 02, MAF, umm........lots of things
Then I took it all apart and put a ported TPI setup on there with heads, cam, and headers.

Was the MAF new that you put in? Buddy had the same problem with his TPI 'Vette and someone mentioned to us to change the coolant temp sensor for the ECM and possibly fuel pressure regulator. We did both(they were cheap) and no more code 34. From what we figured, the temp sensor was giving an inaccurate reading to the ECM causing the MAF to also be inaccurate.
Nice car BTW!
