I need some Help...

First off, I need someone's help in being in charge of the race track. Here is the link for it. http://masondixondragway.com/directions.htm

First I need someone to contact them, preferrably on the phone, and see about us coming on an early Sunday morning, and have some people race, right now estimating how many want to race will be hard, but I figure abou 50-75 . The rest will be watching.
And see whether or not we could get 2 lanes set aside for us. I'd like not to have to rent the track as they want $4k approximately.
Also, ask if a portable dyno were supplied, if we could set it up somewhere at the track.

Another thing I need help on is, to have someone to contact some magazines to come out and take some photos.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and will help this event be more successful.

If they'd be interested in coming out June 21 (the show part) or JUne 22 (track/dyno day) and takng some pics to maybe do a story about it in their mag.

Just and idea. I contacted them a while ago, but I think I emailed the wrong people.

I emailed Super Chevy, GM High-Tech Performance, Car Craft, Hot Rod, Popular Hot Rodding, High Performance Pontiac, and Chevy High Performance. If you come up with any more, let me know and I will send them the same email.

I'd say if we ALL e-mailed the mags then they would get an idea that it would not just be 10 cars showing up and they might take interest in it.

That's a good idea, whoever finds the email contact for the mags,, please email me or post it and i'll send it out to everyoe, then again, they might get pissed.

later on, Ill post for help again, which, I'll need some volunteers who may want to do some cooking for the bbq, and maybe a few people to go out and get the food either the day before or early that Sat morning.

also, when you ask if the dyno could be set-up at the track, we're gonna need about 60-70 feet of wire for power to the dyno. i have to check with stacey so we know what type of power we need (110, 220, etc.)
once i know what type of power we need for the dyno (forgot to ask when i called), i'll post back here.

i forgot to post this as well, but when i talked with lonsal, he asked me if we could arrange to have a table for his products at the show. he would be willing to pay for the table, and donate it to the organization if someone could purchase one locally. or, if we could have someone contact a local fire department and see if we could borrow or rent tables and chairs from them, that would be a big help.

I like this idea...although they might get pissed if they get too many emails, they might actually believe tha we are serious about this and that it should be a pretty big even if enough people encourage them.

I have only heard from Chevy High-Tech Performance, and they declined, but said if there is anyone that thins their car is worthy of its own feature, to mail them pics and info on the car, and they will consider it for a story.
