everyone with 13 second 305's
well, post em up, i want to know how many people are running 13's or quicker with a 305. n/a is a plus, daily driveris a plus, only car is a huge plus.
mine:
13.75@100.5
n/a
daily driven
only car.
getting a better torque converter, should be low 13's by the end of next year, maybe even high 12's with a set of hogged out heads and better cam.

yea uhhh i dont think ur gonna find very many some but not many altho gears some nitrous and some tires will put u there
uh, why not? throw a cam and decent heads on one and youd have to be retarded not to get it into the 13s
mine was my only car up until recently when I bought an 11 second buick that is principally a race car.
#416's ported and polished
214/224 flat tappet cheapo cam
cheapo 1.6 RR's
edelbrock torker II single plane
edelbrock 1405 600 cfm carb
at the time of my 13.6 i had 3.42s
nitto dr's
t5 with junkyard clutch
not much else really other than things like exhaust and whatnot
my times are in the sig
fwiw I went to the 8th mile strip a few weeks ago and clicked off a few 9.0's around 81-83 mph with crappy traction. I ran an 8.9 when i ran a 13.6
it really needs a double pumper.

holy smokes! with traction, you have a low 13/high 12 second car. i wish i could run a 5 speed cause of that right there. my exhaust won't allow it though. ported and polished heads are what i need right now. also a higher stall converter. maybe even a bigger cam.
my 8th mile times are in the 8.8's with 79-80 mph.
plenty people have 13second 305's, i just want to know who...

On the g-tech with 75hp of nitrous, I ran a 13.6.
Without the gas, 14.2-14.3. I am getting closer(with a 2500 stall, I will see the 13's!!)
Glad to see that the 305's hold there own!

my 82 Z with CFI ran a best of 13.62 @ 102 mph. don't remember the 60' or 1/8 stuff because this was years ago. i still have the car but it's in storage awaiting a transplant
mods were:
!backseat, !AC, !cat !airpump, home ported heads, home ported lower intake to match, bigger cam, (can't remember the specs but it was in the .470-.480 lift with a set of valve springs) 3500 stall with manual shift kit in the 200 metric A3, 3.42 gears with all richmond guts and new posi.
whats going in it is the setup in my 87 vette i'm doing right now. i'm going to freshen the shortblock with new bearings and a set of forged flat tops for a stock 350 roller motor bored .030, fully ported TPI, ZZ409 cam, a set of hogged out D 113 heads, with a shot of juice
i'm testing the setup this spring with the vette but with a new LT1 intake ready for the L98 that i've had for awhile. then spring time the build for the 396 long block starts and once that is done the transplant to the Z starts

With more stall, higher gears, and a transmission that shifts from 2->3 at WOT, I'm confident my combo would get there.
However, it looks now like I'm going to be able to just cut to the chase https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=271244

I don’t really see why everyone thinks that this is so hard. My crossfire TA ran a best of 13.82@98 with a 1.8 60’ time. The crossfire setup was pretty seriously modified, it had headman headers and a custom (home made?) exhaust (headers, 2 high flow cats, flowmaster y and 3” pipe straight out). A4, it had ran the same times with 3.23 and 3.42 gears (no posi, broke the gears on one of the passes) on 255 60 15 BFG TA’s, but 3.23’s were much happier on the street. The long block was stock, about 120K miles at the time, the tranny was stock with some home brew valve body mods. This was my daily (only) driver when I was in college (at the time it was running these times) and it was setup for autox (think stiff, short springs, stiff sway bars, lots of heavy bracing…).
My L98 formula isn’t much faster, it’s only gone 13.59@100 with a 1.86 60’, but it was better equipped to do it from the factory, mostly the posi, and otherwise it only has a cat back and cold air intake

Well,it's been a LONG time since i came to 3rd gen,I was going to build a 350 for my firebird, but since i have so much done to my 305 and i've never realy found out what it can do,I think i'll get a holley double pumper for it and go back to the track.

i don't know what mine will run cause i haven't been to the strip yet but i'm shooting for high 13's with mine. 305, bored .030, mild cam, edelbrock performer intake, edelbrock 1405 carb., hooker super comp headers, 1.5:1 rr, hyperutetic pistons, 50,000 volt coil, 8mm spark plug wires,3" hooker aerochamber exhaust, 3.23's,only 3,000 miles on motor and heads.

what are your cam specs, converter stall, compression ratio? hooker 2055's? or the longtubes?
from the info you gave me, i could see mid/low 14's @ 95ish mph. you don't have enough gear right now, 3.73's would help a ton.

Our F Stock-competitive 92 B4C 1LE car supposedly ran 13.99 at 99 MPH with one of the previous owners. I know nothing of the conditions, but all the power adders the car has is a nice, torque-inducing cat-back exhaust and some K&N-like drop-ins. The car weighs 3420#.
