Whats the best shift point for L98/700R4???
Ive been noticing my car has been shifting a little higher than normal in the 6100 RPM range. I know the TV cable adjustment can fix this, but what is the best shift point? Am i losing power after 5500 RPM with the stock internal L98? It doesn't really feel like its falling on its face. The 2-3 shift is where it seems to really wind out. Thanks

Your Tach is probably off a little. Mine says I shift at 5,300 but like you, there is no power drop off. So it's probably more like 4,800. I've tried playing with the TV Cable at the track and with lower shift points, my car slows down.

does winding out first gear abit into the low 5'sK help out the second gear drop? cuz 3.06 first to a 1.63 second is a hell of a jump down, and maybe sacrificing abit in first will pick up 2nd gear

Yeah my tach may be off a bit. I did adjust the cable and it feels alot slower shifting at 5 grand. It don't downshift for crap when i really nail it. When It reved higher in the 6 grand range the rpms would drop into a sweetspot (3500 rpm) on every upshift. I think my 4.10's might like the higher rpms maybe???

i know mine is pretty much on... i trap 96.6 mph and with my gears and tires, its calculated at 3500rpms crossing the line, which is what it did
