Using engine size will not necassarily make for good bench marks. Maybe someone with the similarheads, compression, chassis and weight.

ok tommyboy you have the bigger heads i think the edelbrocks are like 170cc. i know there hurting me, but you still have .4 tenths on me and that what i am talking about. i do have a 850 dp 1.5 rockers as well, 1 3/4 hooker headers. i was thinking about changing the heads and cam but this is what i have now and i still think theres something left in the car. right now in the carb i have 65 jets in it all around, but the plugs look good a tanish grey color. the exhaust temps are around 1300. to me that seems low. well thakns for the info already any more will help.

i think performer RPM heads suck for how much they are. Furthermore, that cam is a nitrous cam isn't it? that is a lot more duration on the exhaust than the intake. Did you try moving timing or jetting up or down to see if MPH picks up at all? Otherwise it's still a nice combo bluebeast. 11.50s is nothing to scoff at.

Well judging off MPH you are making about 418 fwhp, your ideal ET is 11.51 - you are close - but I would look for better 60ft's still as a race type car IE: small converter, deep gear, trans brake should be lower than ideal by about a 1/10 od 2 et..

I would look into a different cam as well, unless those are really un effecient on the exhaust - thats a huge split and pretty big lsa as well.. Great super charger cam!
porting the heads maybe - what do those flow??

Still a very good runner, and nice car you have.

My old 350 combo was dart 200cc, 10.0 compression, 3200 stall, 4.10s, victor
jr,750dp, 248/252..
11.87@112.8

Yea, definatley get rid of that 114* LSA cam. The ONLY reason why I used one is, when I was getting the motor together, I did not think I would be doing my own proms, and I wanted a cam that would yield good vacuum. A 112* would be better, IMO.

I'm EFI, and my engine is a 436, and it traps a MPH of 118. I should be trapping a 125 MPH. You and I have the same problems...WRONG CAM.

i got a great deal on the heads that wh y ihave them on the motor now but now i am seeing the downfall. someone else told me that the cam is a nitruos cam. i guess i will get it as good as i can and look into a new cam and possibly new heads. i am not sure what these heads flow, so i couldnt even begin to tell a number. any cam for recomendations or shold i jsut give comp cams a call and let thme set with up with one?

i'm happy with the 106 LSA cams on a N/A motor. comp makes some great circle track cams that have very peaky powerbands that you should check out on their website.

went to track again last night a ran a new best of 11.455@119.1 with 60's in the low 1.5's. all i changed was the jets went up 2 sizes with them. i thought i better try something, and it worked. i am going to try one of friends 750 dp just to see what happens.

Here is a little trick that will help if you have a solid roller. Tighten up the valve lash .006 to .008 (Max). This should help out a bit. Assuming you have enough piston to valve clearance to try it. Another trick, buy a Moroso or Mr. Gasket electric water pump kit ($60.00). This will add some ponies too.
