Poor quality video, but you get the idea.

First pass with the Dart Iron Eagle heads and a new 750DP Holley. 12.52 @ 110 mph. I later bumped the timing up to 36 degrees of total advance and trapped 113 mph. I hope there is a little more left in it.

The other car was a '96 Z28, he ran mid 13's.

1.8 sec 60' with stock suspension and BFG drag radials.

The converter currently in the car only flashes to 2500 rpms or so, a looser converter would really help.

Re: Video: First pass with the Dart heads

I don't think a looser converter will help on a 26" slick with 4.56 gears and that super deep 3.06 first gear in that trans. I feel that is too much torque multiplication right at the line and the converter is the only thing helping those tires to not blow off the line.

Re: Video: First pass with the Dart heads

I am actually running a 28" tire. I previously tried a 26", but it would practically destroy the tires.

Re: Video: First pass with the Dart heads

Either way that car will be a handful, that would be like running a 5.13 gear on a TH350

Re: Video: First pass with the Dart heads

I have no idea how much HP it has. I suppose I could get an estimate based on the car's weight and trap speed, but I haven't weighed the car. The body is stock with the exception of a fiberglass hood and removed AC/heater box. Full interior.

needs more cam, sounds like it needs more compression. you'll get far better results i think. those heads are huge.

That is the only reason he is not blowing the tires off that thing with the gear/tranny combo....his engine is such that it's a dog out of the box, but pulls hard on the top end...good combo for bracket racing as we know since the heat can kill the starting line

miss matched combo for sure, but it's moving the car along and band aiding a gear reduction problem for now.

you put a smaller gear and your stall speed will raise up a bit since you'll be riding the convertor harder without all the gear reduction.

What are all the specs on that cam? Your combo is very similar to mine and I'm shooting for about 115 mph. See sig below, I also posted a thread that is about 4 threads down from this one. Check it out.
