Something new stopped by work today.
Being in the High performance Transmission/converter buisness I see a lot of drag cars and trucks come through during the race season. Vega's, Nova's, S-10's, Modualr Fords, LS1's, Street rods, etc.....
Today I'm at my desk and here something pretty wild comming from the back parking lot and sure enough this was driving off the trailor.
544CI 871 Blown Injected Big Block Event truck getting a freshen up before tonight show. This thing is defeinetely wild to look at in person. The small wheels are on it so that it can fit in the rig. I have to also add that the rig used to tow this thing is bigger than any freight tractor trailor thats ever been through here. It's a little dirty from last nights show.

Monster truck technology has come a long way since Bigfoot started it in the 80's. All those trucks look goofy with the small travel tires on them although you don't normally see them with the rice and cane tires.

Thats cool. We had Grave Digger at our shop a few years back. Its not something we would see at work everyday. Needless to say. Not much work got done on other jobs that day.

There are f ew different Gravedigger trucks out there. We also have Randy Brown as a customer as well. He is the Gravedigger out of North Carolina and he stops through here frequently to get freshen ups on his Glide and converter.

I'll let you know if the spot opens but right now its not looking like it. Anyway, You'd have to deal with comming in to work in the morning and this is parked in your spot, lol
I thought the torque straps were cool holding the blower down. I think hetold me that some Nitro blown motors make so much power and rpm that the blowers fly right off the top of the motor, lol.
I have a video of him doing burnouts up and down the parking lot. Trying to get them from my co-worker. This thing was LOUD!

Dang, the suspension is fully compressed too! Just imagine what it's like to work on it with the event tires on and the suspension charged up......need a ladder and scaffolding to change the oil, lol.
As Matt noted, we do use aluminum studs between the manifold and blower(to try to keep from destroying the manifold in the event of a back fire) and the blower restraints are an SFI mandate for most any form of racing. For faster ET's roots & screw blowers are also required the big burst panel and a full "balastic" containment bag around the entire blower.
