my poor 2.8L 5 speed got killed

this sounds stupid but i love racing dosent matter if ya win or lose but winnning is obviuosly better. anyway im 17 and have a 89 2.8L 5 speed firebird also had a 87 ta but used it for parts to fix my 89{parents wouldnt let me drive a v8}on to the race details ,now my firebird is maui blue with a formula wing stock rims and the hood, passenger fender, headlights, and bumper is black, this guy in a 94 ta the anniversary model pulls up next to me and revs it a litle so i rev mine we give the thumbs up and said on the green he had an auto, on green i slam my foot through the radiator dump the clutch at 6 grand and im off in a cloud of smoke he bairly sqealed his tires i got the jump on him till about 25 mph and he shot by me like a bat out a hell we stayed at it till about 80 and we quit he had like a mile on me but it was fun and it really makes me appreciate the LT1s got my butt kicked but had fun isnt it what its all about thought id let ya know on a side note ive beat my mom and dads 93 eagle vision with a 3.3L man my dad was mad lol

You popped the clutch at 6,000 RPMs!? Why!!? If you did that he should have kicked your *** from the start. You spun too much. Pop the clutch at about 3,000 to 3,500 RPMs. You will get a much better jump.

God, if I popped my clutch at 6,000 RPMs I wouldnt go anywhere!

I was about to say! If you didnt let off I dont see how you could have got traction. But dont feel bad this guy I know has a 25th anniv T/A and wants to race me but I said no. Funny thing is the guy has no idea what he has. He just sees it as a "fast car". lol

Yea just looked. Nice idea. If I were you only thing I would change is I would get the 4th gen firehawk wheels 17" and get the 3rd gen T/A wing like Jason said. Other than that I like it!

thats pretty retarded that your parents won't let you drive a V8,what exacly makes a v6 safer anyways? I talked my mom into floating the cash for my Trans Am by convincing her that it wasn't all that fast(it really wasn't) and performance cars have the best steering and brakes, because of the money it was costing me, the last thing I would do is wrap it around a tree.I got my car when I was seventeen,I've been in one accident,a 5 mph "tap" on my way to work, because my rear brakes decided to quit when I needed them most(result of numerous smoke shows).keep the tradition alive(and the insurance rates high)hardly anything is as horrifying as a teenager with a muslecar,a little sweet talking you'll get your v8.
