87 Iroc 305 vs 93 V-6 Maro
what kind of trannys does each have? the 93 Maro only has a 3.4 liter V6, not nearly as good as the 3.8, i dont know the HP ratings for the 3.4, but i'm pretty sure if its a automatic you'll be able to take him. Do you have TBI or TPI?

I've got a 305 TPI Auto, and he's either gotten a 3.4 or 3.8L Auto. I've got a homemade Ram Air mod that's more or less it. I think he's got subs in the back too I don't have anything to weigh me down like big speakers.

if it is a 3.4 you have it no prob...but a 3.8..if it is manual it would be a good race...if it is auto it depends on his gears..my 3.8 auto with 3.42 gears beats 3.8 manuals all day long so it would be more of challenge but still close. but most likely it is going to be a 3.4 and you could probably get out and run faster than it.

3.4L is 160 HP, and an 87 305 TPI is 195 or 200 HP. You should walk all over him, especially with his heavy-*** stereo in the back.

I found out today it is a 96 not a 93... and his is an auto, I'm pretty sure I could take em. But I'm just makin sure so when he does try and race and get his poop car beat just wanna rub it in a lil ya know

A 96 has the 3.8L V6, which is 200 HP and I think 225 TQ. They can run low 15's, pretty quick for a V6. Dont let him take out his stereo stuff.

Dont worry about it, I was at the track with a 2000 V-6 she ran 15.6 all day with a best of 15.556 at 86 mph. My stock 305 ran a 15.4's @ 87 mph all day. Its at 15 flat now. You win unless you go crazy and spin your wheels. Just take it easy and vicory is yours.
