Made it to Mason Dixon on Saturday
Went for test and tune. New best times:
Run 1:
60 ft. 1.9
1/8 7.9
1/4 12.1
MPH 122
Run 2:
60 ft. 1.89
1/8 7.9
1/4 12.1
MPH 116.8
My buddy seems to think the MPH in the first pass was a mistake, what do you all think? The setup is 11.5:1 406 with a hydraulic roller and a stealth ram.
The tires are 275/50/15 ET Streets so I don't know why I still can't hook...

Yea..that mph looks a bit off compared to the second...but the spinning is up to your clutch and tire.
You have to slip the clutch or tire...or break something in between. Lol
Im assuming you mean 275 et street radials...the stick cars are rough on them. And the mickey is a worse compound design for a stick. I just got rid of my mickeys for hoosiers because they were fried and i like the hoosier compound better.

You can try 17 lbs...but i wouldnt go lower than that. Hopefully 87ta can chime in for you.
Radials are never helpful on a stick car...you could try adding weight to the rear of the car...i think youll need different tires

I'm running a stiff-wall ET Drag, and man do they ever hook. I've got a best 60' time of 1.62 using these, and obviously they are good for a lot quicker than that. Its a beast of a tire compared to any "compromise" tire like a street radial, ET Street, M&H cheater slick, etc.

i was talking back and forth with Buddy from M/T last night some and he says for a clutch car to go to an ET Street, screwed with tubes, or a full slick. the radials will help with drivability on the street but for the track, put a bias ply on.
what was the 1/8 mph? that might tell us if the first 1/4 mph was a fluke.

radials are not the best choice for a manual, but they can work. i would run a lower than normal pressure in them like 12. i had a couple of buddies that ran 255 50 16 bfg radials on 4th gens. both went 1.6x 60's and dipped into the 15's. i also ran them but i had a 10 bolt so i couldnt go after it all that hard. went 1.8's with mine.
bias ply tires are what you want on a manual car.

Stiffwall and tubes helpful. Also use wider wheel if you can to stiffen tire. I would start around 16 psi. On high 11 car you probably won't wrap up tire to much and dead hook, so use more psi to help that. I thought of trying radials on mine due needing the sidewall strength. But doubt it would work. With the radials try a slowing down release. Or initially anyway until you start transferring then let go all the way which the g force will make you do anyways
