trying to hit 7's

went to the track today, went 8.5 with a 1.8 60ft on a 100shot on a almost empty bottle.
my goal is to be in the 7's with these gears.3.27 9 bolt
going to get the bottle filled this week and try again on a completely full bottle. also I have the jets for a 150 shot but didn't get a chance to try them before the bottle ran out.
rite now the spray is wired through a progressive controller spraying 35 shot off the line then the full 100 on a 3 second delay then the full 100. I lowered the delay time to 2 seconds so that should also help out a little since it will get the full 100 shot rite at the 60ft but again...bottle ran out so I could try it (of course)
was thinking about doing a exhaust cut out rite after the y pipe and see if that helps but I'm not sure if it will do anything noticeable. ANY help would be awesome

any advice would be great on things I can do this week to get into the 7s even if its a 7.99 ill be happy lol

Really need a converter and bring in the nitrous sooner. But need to get the rpms up before giving it all the spray. A converter and hitting it with most all the shot size off the line will greatly drop et.

Yeah that's my next investment probably a 3000 stall. But for now I'm going to do all I can to get it to go as fast as possible with what I have available this week.

some slicks might help and losing some weight? cant hurt to try a cut out.

i'd like to get into the 7's too. ran an 8.7 on motor and 8.3 at 83 with 100 shot.

Re: trying to hit 7's

81mph in the 1/8 with a 100 shot? You're not making the kind of power you should be. I had the same combo, with a little bigger cam (280xfi) and running 86 in the 1/8th on motor. Ignition, fuel, tune start there and figure out where your power is going.

1.8 60 foot is not ideal, but not bad. 81 mph in the 1/8 in a 3300 lb car is about ~275 hp. Your motor should be putting out a lot more than ~175 hp on the motor. Have the spark plug wires mixed up? Bad tune?

Re: trying to hit 7's

You know I've been thinking the same thing since I put the car together. It really should be faster than what my times are showing. The tune seems okay AFR on my wideband is rite about where it should be almost all the time deffinetly no crossed plug wires or melted ones

Re: trying to hit 7's

To be honest I think my y pipe is choking the car up a lot the exhaust shop made it and It has a really sharp 90 degree bend coming rite off of the headers into a 3 inch I'll take a pic and post it when I get the chance
