IN SEARCH OF HP!

So can anyone tell me what i can do for the best bang for the buck hp? I have a 91 Z 28 with a 350. Paxton s/c at 8lbs of boost, water injection, tes headers, flowmaster cat backsystem, crane hi6s with boost retard, air foil and comp cams magnum 1.6 roller tip rocker arms. Thought about nitrous but dont wanna go there. I have a set of l98 heads that have been ported on the exhaust side? I also have a set of afr's waitin for a 383 to be built. Any suggestions?

Right now I think your TPI is your major restriction. You got the going out part down, but.... look into upgrading your TPI or a miniram or something for the 383. TPI just can't handle that kinda of air induction.

I am planning to use a die grinder and port the crap out of the stock intake system. I had a superram on my vett and did not notice a huge diff? And a mini ram is big bucks! I thought i would try a little love with the die grinder but maybe ill save up for the superram and large runners?

Thanks for the input!

ArmorgetRS,

I am planning to use a die grinder and port my intake system this week. I thought it would be free hp and just port the crap out of the lower base, upper plentum and match the runners? What do you think?

Port matching and polishing it all will never ever hurt. Just be careful, though, they aren't very thickly casted in some areas and its aluminum in parts so just be carefull. The inside of the TPI is very rough, so it will deffinately add power up high. Expecially w/ the SC you will see more gain.
I am not sure you will feel it in the seat of your pants, but your engine will probably pull harder up high.
Have fun!
Douglas

My supercharger can only put out 5-7 psi per paxton although i am pushing 8.5psi and i know of others who are running higher. As for the intake runners, i used to have a 87 vett that had the slp runners but they were the same length. Do you know where i can get shorter runners? And for a good price? As for the fuel pump, thanks for the info! Paxton's tech dept was very weak! I hooked my car up to an auto xray and the car was extremely lean above 3500rpms! I purchased a fmu and inline fuel pump from vortech. I bought a check valve and made a bypass for the inline fuel pump and ran the pump to my hobbs switch so the aux. fuel pump comes on under boost. I have seen a few guys runnnig the same times with the 305 cars and the only difference between my 350 and their 305's is 52mm tb and large tube runners. Im sure i can get much better results with a set of afr's i have waiting for my 383 but what a pita to put on!

Thanks for the reply
