almost complete T5 setup
ok I am selling my T5 setup I got about 2 months ago in a trade. I have everything EXCEPT the fork and the clutch hydraulics, but both are readily available from your local parts store.
But I have:
trans, stock shifter, bell housing, 1 pc rear main seal 153 tooth flywheel, pressure plate and friction disc in really good condition, pedals with neutral safety switch, and i think that is it.
I was going to do the swap but i need money for college tuition and I think I am just going to build up a TH350/400. I have never used it, but it does go into gears very smoothly, fluid was not grimmy or gritty, and i am going with this is not a World Class because of the cable speedo gear. I got this in a trade from a high performance shop owners son, it was up in naperville, Power something, I dont remember, but he said the trans sat for a year and probably needed a going thru, HOWVER he did say he drove it and it had no problems or noise, and it didnt look or feel like it had any problems, but my loss is your gain, any questions feel free to contact me on here, email me at metallbkornvs@aol.com, or call my cell at 773-844-9749
I live in Chicago incase anyone wants to stop by.
I am asking $450 OBO, thats less than the amount of the stuff I traded for it. However, unless it is made worth my while, I WILL NOT SHIP!! i only have weekends off to do this, and i have never shipped something this big, so if you are willing to pay and want to give me directions on how to do this, then i am game, otherwise i will deliever to a certain distance, meet up, or you can pick it up. thanks and let me know!!

mileage i am was told about 5k, it was behind a mild 383 and was rebuilt before it was put into the car. and i will check the bearings and for the stamp....is there any other way to ID the trans besides the speedo output, bearings, and stamp without pulling it apart??

i have no clue, i figure you can go to the trans boards. was it a stock or performance rebuild? is it bad that it sat for that long? why did the guy say it should be checked over? its sounding pretty good so far. definantly interested.

Is there a real bearing there or not?
I forget the exact ID but comparing a World to a reg T5 and the front bearings are different. Believe the input shaft isnt supported by a true roller type bearing on the non world class T5.

The front countersaft bearing should say "TIMKEN" on it. The countershaft bearing is below the input shaft cover.

a tranny shipment is usually around 100 for an auto. when i was going to ship my auto with converter to missouri it was gonna cost 90 bucks if they picked it up from my house. the only pain is getting it all ready to ship.

ups is usually the cheapest an best. the slower the better (price of course). i guess you can ship all the other loose parts in a box or something. should be easier. 400+shipping unless you can find out it is in fact world class.
