Cheap turbos

I've done lots of searchs and everybody says to use garret t3 turbos for a TT setup. I'm looking at only spending bout $1000 on all parts if possible. is there any other cheaper alternatives. thanks

Junkyards. I got both my .60/.63's from the junkyard for less than $100 total. One needed a new cartridge, which was $125 off ebay. Keep looking, you'll find something.

Go to turbobuick.com and post for stock GN turbo in the parts wanted section. you may get lucky you should be able to find it for around $150-300.

Turbos for an 87 305

I was wondering where you got the turbos for your gta and how much they were. Do they give you much more power or is there a lot of lag? Im debating between supercharging and twin turbo, trying to get some figures on HP increase and cost ratio.

I have two Hifi 60-1 turbos with P trim from Turbonetics they are around $700 each. I also have .59 a/r 4 bolt exhaust housing, this plays a big role in your spool up. Bigger the a/r number is more exhaust you need for spool up.I have no problem spooling up because I have a 3000+ stall converter and a trans brake. If it is possible, stick with a single turbo setup instead of twin. It all depends on what you goal is, 11's or 10's single turbo(good size) is more than good enough. Talk to all big turbo guys, they will tell you a single one is better than twin at least that is what Harry told me from Precision Turbo & Engine.

Good luck

i chose single because there are less components to connect and anywhere i want to race, frowns on twins as opposed to a single.

turbo

Is there a part number for that turbo and what kind of other stuff do you need to hook up and do you think a turbo is worth the money compared to a supercharger
