Ok, I just got it back from the shop today. I must say it is a TOTALLY different beast now! It doesn't feel much stronger on the freeway, but maybe that is because I am not used to driving my car all that much anymore .... I havent had my car in forever.

My friend and I ran the ol' g-tec on it and got a best 13.05 @ 115.6. Granted, the mph seems to be off more often then not, but I think if I take my 200 lb friend out of the car I would get a 12.8. Still, this is crappy because I ran a 12.9 before. I have a super small and super dirty filter on it right now as well. Jim Secrest said when he switched to the biggest air filter he could find for his, that he dropped 2/10ths w/out any problems.

I tried totally flooring it from a stop and it peeled all the way into 3rd gear and then I let off ... that's amazing! I hope with some practice and some tuning I can get into the 11's. It sucks to have to wait forever before I can really get on it in the 1/4, but I remember I knocked off several tenths just by practicing launching.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think I have 11's with tuning, better air filter and practice?

Hard to say the g-tech is usually off at 3mph. So givin that with a possible 112+ trap youd have no problems with a 1.6 60' getting 11's. Gotta psots your first slip. MPH is everything........

I feathered it pretty lightly for the first 3 or 4 seconds too. If I just mashed it all the way through would that have affected my mph?

All depends. I ran my 1/8 mile at 82 mph. but finished my 1/4 at 114mph. If you can hook and pull down a good 60' you'll mph will be down a bit. Mph is independent of et(track conditions, weather, and traction can play with et, but your mph will be generally in the same area....................

I really think I have 11's in it because when it catches the road, it feels great! I do need to address the traction issue. I think I can get close with practice, tuning, the bigger air filter and race gas!

What type of intake are you using, carb, fuel injection? How much boost are you running? Sorry, i think i missed your set up b/c i have no clue as to what you have. Traction is a big issue i can see, any suspension mods you need to do? Pictures would be cool too. Later

MPH can be decieving judging by the seat of your pants. When I put the blower on my Malibu it felt like a rocket through the low and midrange. Traction was a distant memory. But in top gear it didin't feel much dfferent. Then I ran my "measured 1/4 mile" on my favorite back road with a stopwatch and a passenger doing "telemetry" for me. Heh heh. Not exactly a g-tech, but very repeatable and in my expereince, pretty accurate.

MPH went up from about 107 to 116! That's based on RPM readings at the end of the run. Even if you figure I'm slipping the converter more due to the extra torque I'll lay money that it wasn't below 114 in reality. The reality was it had plenty of Wheaties in top gear.

Instead of having my choice of going through the "traps" at eigher the top of 2nd gear or the bottom of 3rd, I was WELL into 3rd gear.

sounds like a good setup except for the traction. with that mph you have a chance for low 12's, or better. good luck!
