small shot of n2o or go to a smaller turbine a/r

I would prefer to stay away from the N20 option

did want to go with a larger TB as well as porting and polishing the intake up to hopefully make less of a restriction

also know that the stock turbo inlet duct sucks being some s shaped piece that looks like an accordian, so that would get removed in a heart beat and replaced with a straighter piece of pipe

the only thing I don't want with the smaller A/R is top end performance loss

I know gotta give and take with turbos

can you get the compressor and turbined machined to be lighter?

how much more would a ball bearing cartridge cost vs just the normal bearing

someone was telling me something about having them also machine it so the compressor blades are sharpened? what gives with that

all in all I am thinking of going with a t-60 in the long run but not sure yet and I want the good boost and flow but want to figure out how to keep a little low range in there

how much would it hurt power if I advance the exhuast port opening? but keep the closing the same?

any other ideas?

combination of correct:

converter size
cam
exhaust housing
tuning

the tuning/housing play the biggest part

no converter I'm running a stick

the turbo would be for my rotary so as far as cam specs all I can give you is the duration.

Retarding the timing along with a two step at launch helps to build boost. Other things like water, gas, or alky injection into the exhaust manifold also spin the turbine faster. As far as lightening goes, I don't think you can take much more off. A ball bearing center section from turbonetics.com runs about 1500 bux I think. As far as sharpening the blades, it changes the drag coefficient and thus then can spin faster. Driving tricks like e-braking and slipping the clutch to build boost works. That's also a good trick for auto guys. You can get an extra 200 or 300 stall off of the converter with the hand brake. Launching a manual car might get a little busy though.

how much of a difference would using synthetic oil work

not relaly wanting to use a rev limiter except for top end limit

the application would be for road racing/ auto-x so burnout limiter is not something I want

water injection if anything wouldn't that slow the turbo down due to less pressure being built by the combustion chambe being cooler?

you should look into getting the tirbine blades clipped this will make for a better spool up and you wont loose all that much power up in the upper rpm range.

that might be something worthwhile

Intake Open 32° ATDC
Intake Close 70° ABDC

Exhaust Open 71° BBDC
Exhaust Close 48° ATDC

that is for the most part the port timing specs think I might be off a tad bit though

When you tune the car try to make the bottom end lean, this way it will create more heat, heat is energy and will help you spool up quicker. I hope you have a good fuel/timing management system.

Good luck

I would be using the stock fuel managment for the time being

and I am prolly going to be runninga little rich due to larger injecters and stock system

do plan on getting a stand alone ecu though which would help me out

but that is a ways down the road
