guys looking into purchasing some pipes to get started on my headers... its single.... about how much tubing will be needed...and of what bends..... ie 3 180* ,5 90* straights im not worried about.... just and estimate.... i just need to make the ds header.... somewhat of a pass side with half of the crossover...
anothe thing... where is a good place to find header flanges for a sb chevy?
(just a thought... i might have to change my name to SingleTurboROC)

You really have to look at how yuo want to build you headers and then figure what bends you are going to need to purchase after you have decided that. I have over $600 in stainless bends in my headers for a single turbo.
thanks for the response... now about the exhaust flanges... im looking for the single flange per port style... not like the regular style flange.....

is there a particular reason for that?
that is the WORST idea i can think of for a turbo header, as hot as they get, the metal will distort, and the continuity of the flange helps minimize that.

Actually, thats not a bad idea. I had the single flange, and I cut them. I havent had a problem with the headers leaking yet.
I had my own flanges cut where I work. We have a CNC plasma cutter table. It warped the hell out of them cutting them out buyt we flattened them.
In the future, Id buy new flanges from someone but Im not exactly sure where to get them at.

Specialty Products Design as well as Burn's Stainless sells the header flanges.
My headers use the individual port flanges, and I have not had any problems. It makes construction a little more difficult, but totherwise it's the way to go.
If you read "Maximum Boost" it's recommended in the book to use individual port flanges, or cut the flange between the outer ports and the middle ports. The single long flanges will expand under heat and will bow, resulting in a poor seal.
