Maybe you should rephrase the question using categories: Same question but divided such as:

Daily-driven (non-emissions):
305 carb:
305 TB:
305 TPI:
350:
383:
>383:

Daily-driven (emissions compliant):
305 carb:
305 TB:
305 TPI:
350:
383:
>383:

Race only:
305 carb:
305 TB:
305 TPI:
350:
383:
>383:

I say do it this way because power is somewhat proportional to cubic inches and it would give a more accurate assessment of what guys have and how much work they've done.

yeah, didn't think about that

ok, i'm not interested in the race only cars, i wanna see daily drivers...emissions or non-emissions, doesn't matter

i'm lookin for people i guess with, uhh, lets say 400+ hp daily driven..doesn't matter the engine size, just specify your c.i. and what intake setup you have...pics are great too if you have them

yep estimates are fine...i know alot of people haven't dynoed their cars but have rough numbers

willie: your dash looks like a space shuttle control board!! i'd have wrecked the car in a heartbeat trying to look at all the different numbers and lights and flippin switches.....that's awesome though that you got those power #'s outta a 305

Mine isnt exactly street driven, but it could easily be that way. Ive no where near scratched the surface of my potential either.

406ci,
AFR heads
232/228 hydraulic roller camshaft
1 3/4" tubular headers
T88 turbocharger
TH400 trans

Best ET: 10.95 @ 126 @ 5 psi of boost

the only dyno run I have was problem filled. The intercooler tubes were coming off. At 8psi, it blew the tubes off at 4500 rpms, and was at 512rwhp

I didn't want to load up the board w/ a useless post b/c I know I don't have the highest #'s but the tq was impressive.

ZZ4 w/ stock TPI and some bolt on crap,
267-356 on motor
361-551rwtq on the 100 shot.

Try putting that down w/ stock suspension, 6-spd, and a 245 tire. Not fun.

Well, you didn't say it had to be a thirdgen, so I'll say Monty's Vette takes the cake.

1000+ hp if not mistaken...and I'm pretty sure it's street driven (or at least it can be)

10.9? I havent added any new mods. It will run well into the 9's when I get this thing tuned in correctly. Ive fought it all season and currently in the middle of a head gasket swap.

I had a handle on it right before I started leaking something out between the head on the block on the passenger side. LOL

Real heavy-hitters will never tell you what they make. And if they do, they're lying (usually underestimating).

I have no doubt there are several guys on this board laying down around 4 digits in "technically" street-drivable cars. True daily drivers I would think there are several/many able to put 500+ to the rollers with some sort of power adder on a small block (nitrous or forced induction). N/A true daily drivers, 400+ from a small block to the rollers would not surprise me out of some of the cars.

Anyone running a big block this all goes out the window, of course.

With the truly excellent cylinder heads and cam profiles available today, combined with a well-tuned EFI system the lowly small block Chevy can build TONS of power and still maintain some level of streetability that just wasn't possible in the era of reworked stock heads and carburetors.

Just to throw in one I built that really exceeded expectations how about 480+ ft/lbs of torque at the rear wheels from a 409ci cmall block @2700 RPM with a MiniRam and a teeny-tiny cam? Only to find out later we were not even running the right sized injectors in the motor (24# actual vs. 30# it was supposed to have)! Absolutely impossible to hook it up in 1st gear- it was simply STUPID to try to drive it around on street tires. It won a street burn-out contest in OC, MD once, though!

Better to aim low and surprise than aim high & disappoint.

so true, I get so tired of people that work on thier car and say well if it dont go atleast XX.xx in the 1/4 then something must be wrong. YES! THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG! Its the loose nut behind the wheel. The best thing to do is to build a well rouded package, put a killer tune on it and go from there. Every single car I have ever built went close to a second slower the first few times to the track. Even cars tuned on a dyno run into issues. Eventuallyyou work out all the bugs and they fly.

Let's just say it IS possible to make over 400 hp with a naturally aspirated TPI.

9.5 to 1 compression, GMPP Aluminum fastburn heads, GMPP HOT cam, 1.6 rockers, holley commander 950 42lb an hr injectors, hooker lung tubes, mufflex Y pipe and 3.5" exhaust.
spec stage 3 clutch(ceramic), tremec TKO, moser 9" with 35 splines, spool and 3.70 gears, spohn torque arm, the suspension is stock other than that!

my local track is @4500ft. with 26-10.50-15 et streets, 3500 rpm launch, I shift around 6300 rpm.
MY best actual time slipwas 11.6 I have been told that I ran an 11.4 but there was no slip to prove it because it was a heads up midnight racing competition.

Now that I am out of breath, Is that what you wanted to know?

I am interested in knowing what kind of fuel economy (city / highway) all of these people are getting. feel free to throw that in or edit the existing posts. Especially the 500+ forced people.

I got 18 MPG highway best with my TBI commander 950 + weiand 142 blower combo, making about 440 RWHP on 5#.

I just swapped over to TPI and crack, mainly for fuel economy reasons. maintaining the C950 though.

He has a supercharger and a ZZ4 is a 350.

zz4z28 is that on the internals that come with the ZZ4 short block? And that 560hp is at the wheels? Looks like the ZZ4 short block can take a pretty good beating. How long have you been running that setup? Last question is that track time corrected for Altitude? If not you should be in the 10s corrected.

OOPS!!!!
I did kinda forget the most important part didn't I. Sorry
D1SC@10#s
The motor has Lunati dished blower pistons and oliver pro mod rods, and stock zz4 crank and block!
I got 17mpg driving home from vegas in 113 degree weather, in town I get about 12-13mpg.
Yes that is at the wheels, and I have had it this way for a year and a half, and I honestly don't think our track is corrected, but I don't know!

I love my TKO I just pray to *** I don't obliterate it with the twin turbos when I'm done

Mine made 419 hp/ 486 ft*lb last week on the rollers. Times and mods in signiture. Daily driven, fully loaded, AC and a ton of stereo equipment. Just passed the new mandatory emissions test in Dallas and it gets 22-24 mpg.
