Who makes the best N2O kit?

I know this topic may belong in the product review section, but hopefully I won't get locked for bringing it to the experts. I have finally decided on a Nitrous setup. I want to run a 100 shot. I will start with the lowest setting when I get the kit and work up to the 100 tuning as I go. My motor is solid, uses no oil, well except the little valve guide related puff on startup. I will also be replacing the stock fuel pump. Who makes the best kit?
I will also be adding a fuel pressure, N2O and air/fuel ratio gauges so I can keep an eye on a few vitals.

-NOS
-NX
-CompuCar

I found out that ZEX makes a dry system for the third gen, are they just a ***** company or what?

Please be gentle I'm new to the nitrous area.

NOS, NX, Nitrous Works, CompuCar, TNT ...all make good kits that will suite your needs. I don't know about ZEX though, nor would I ever go with a dry kit.

I would stay away from Nitrous works. Their jets are on the small side. I've seen someone have to jet a 225 shot to see less than 150 at the wheels. NOS or NX.

i like my nos....i'd rather have nx. they both are the same price in the end although nx uses a better valve for their main setup. some of newer nos pieces are just as nice. either one is a good choice. personally which ever is cheaper!



i think i spent more on the safety pieces then anything, be prepared if you want to be safe....live dangerous and have alot of power for very cheap.

I have used both NX and NOS and I like the NX kits better. They are just better quality in my opion.

hey guys, i looked into the NX kits and they have some 4bbl kits. they seem to have Holley 4-BBL kits and then Q-JET kits. which one works with an edlebrock carb?

I find that very odd and I'd more than likely blame it on his motor combo rather than the jets ...Plus I'm 90% sure Nitrous Works rates their kits at the flywheel, not rear wheels so their jets for the 150 shot isn't going to give you 150rwhp. I have however heard the opposite about Compucar. Apparently they rate their kits at rear-wheel HP.

Your Edelbrock carb should be a sqare bore, so the Holley kit would be the one you need.

Nx also rates the power at the wheels.

It probably was a tuning issue, but if I'm spending over $500 on any part of my car, I don't like "probablies" or maybe's.

I think a lot of people dont realize that spraying with 150 horsepower jets on a kit rated at the rear wheels is the equivelent of running 190 horsepower jetting on a kit rated at the flywheel.

i personally think "horsepower" is a stupid way to rate a kit to begin with.... but we're kinda stuck with it now.

I was going to say that as well. There should be a universal measurement. It works pretty well when a manufacturer says:
"on a 2002 Camaro z28 this kit will add an additional 100 horsepower at the wheels", because they know the intake, camshaft specs, displacement, drivetrain, etc. However, its impossible for a carb plate kit for small block chevys to advertise gains in horsepower when every motor it will be going on will be different.

my buddy has had nothing but good things to say about his Nitrous Works kit and i have had good results with Nitrous Express. it's really more of who's sticker you want to run when you go to collect Contingency money (if applicable).

That depends on which Edelbrock carb you have.
Some are based on the Carter AFB design and that is a square bore style like most Holleys.
Some are based on the Rochester Quadrajet design and that would be a spread bore.
