3.8 turbo questions

This is a two part question, but it's ultimiately related to turbo charging, so I posted it here. Please move it if I posted this question in the wrong section.

Part I: I've been told by a reliable source that there is a company that produces an all aluminum 3.8 L36 V6, or something very similar to it. Any idea where I could locate this motor?

Part II: There is a very good possibility that I'll be purchasing a 91-92 Firebird sometime down the line. I want it to handle well, so I'll be trying to keep it well balanced, plus I'll be shedding some weight while I upgrade the suspension. I want it to have power, but an LS1, LS2 or LS6 might be too heavy. I'd really like to have one of those in a third gen, but a 3.8 might be better for handling purposes. Would it be feasible to turbocharge this motor, as opposed to simply dropping in the motor from a Grand National? Aluminum vs. cast iron? If the motor was completely custom I would be able to build it to take as much boost as i wanted. The problem is that I've been told it's not as easy to turbocharge something as I think it is, and that it would be very difficult to find someone that was capable of reprogramming the engines computer for this type of set up. Any comments or ideas?

The only company I know that makes an alum Buick V6 block is TA Performance, it's based of the old BMS Stage 2 blocks and I think will accept all stock LC2 components but if I were building one at what they cost I sure wouldnt put a stock bottom end in it.

If you go with the alum TA block it basicly is a GN motor so turbocharging it is simple, just use all the parts avalible for a turbobuick. Some of those parts may need a little work getting to fit and some parts(like the downpipe)may have to be custom made. It will be alot of work, time, and money and in the end you'd probrobly have been better off going for an LSx motor.

HTH,
Steve

Boneyard, plus a T-56, whatever rear will hold it and all other necessary parts. I'd need a shop to do it too as I lack both the tools and the knowledge...and the time.

I guess I'd better start befriending motor heads...either that or enslaving them.
