What nitrous company did you go with?

I'm just planning ahead for the future. I'm gonna do a Z28 or RS convertion to my car (sport coupe riht now), paint it, do rearend gears, then Nitrous. I was wanting to know which is best to go with.

Don't go with Zex.

Their tech line is horrible and unless you have a fart-can muffler and a huge wing, they don't care about you.

i would run all NX components. Their nitrous shots are rated for rear wheel HP gains not at the engine. Also typically their solenoids are bigger for each kit purchased.

NX here... if you can get past the fact that everythign they make uses massive solinoids I think it's one of the better choices out there.

Used both NOS and NX. NX's quality and parts are above and beyond what you get with NOS.

I ahve used many dif types of systems. NX is by far the best out there in my opinion. Thats one of the reasons I became a dealer for them. They have some of the best noids out there, they have lifetime warranty on the noids, you get a light weight race hose for a feed line also.

Let me know if I can help you with a kit...

NX uses a single nozzle system that goes into the intake elbow about 4-6in infront of the throttlebody. It si jsut as effective and better than the nos plate. On my old nos plate I always had a lean plug on 1 and 3. it was spraying past the intake runner openings.

What if there isn't an intake tube and just a filter attached directly to the throttle body? SOL at that point besides the plate?

Re: What nitrous company did you go with?

I vote NX or NOS, NX seems to be pulling away at this point though. I have a NOS direct port with an NX hitman plate on my 2 stage, though i am thinking about changing my solenoids out for NX ones, we'll see how it works out. And on the subject of plate vs nozzle, i like the plate better, more consistant in my experiences, if you have problems going lean on the front cyl, either put bigger fuel jets in or run a slightly lower bottle pressure. I had most luck at right around 975 psi on my plate system.

Re: What nitrous company did you go with?

I went with nos but i had alot of trouble with there solenoids. So i bought aftermarket solenoids. Nos knows there solenoids could be better because they sell upgrades for them. I've put a compucar kit on my friends mustang and two NX kits one on a mustang and another on an EVO. Haven't had any trouble with any of those.

Re: What nitrous company did you go with?

Anyone try the edelbrock setup? It is dirt cheap and pretty much ready to go for my carb. I am sure it outsourced it's kit from NX or NOS or one of those companies.

the NX hitman kit is about the same price and has proven itself on durability, i would recommend that over the edelbrock, mainly because no one i know has used one, and i dont know many that have.
