NOS, Nitrous Works ect, who to go with??

Okay I am looking at putting a NOS kit on my 82 Camaro. Right now it has a 305 but that will be changing next winter. For this summer though I want to get a little more zoom out of the car. My question is to you, what nitrous kit would you get? There are so many out there I'm going nuts! I have decided that I want to get a wet plate system but beyond this I don't know. What do you guys use, what do you like. And beyond the kit will I have to replace my fuel pump if its a 100-150 shot? Is there anything else that I will have to replace/deal with? Thanks much, I know that this is a repedative topic but I just can't find exacally what I need to know.

I think that NOS sales the most complete and easy to install kits on the market today. I have installed four NOS kits and never once ran into a problem. The Sniper kit is a great value if your on a budget, it goes for about $370 and is adjustable form 50-150HP. I also like the Super Power Shot that NOS sales. As long as your fuel and ignition systems are in good working order and you stay under a 150HP shot of spray all you need to do is retard your timming 1.5-2 degrees for every 50HP of spray your running and run one step colder plugs than factory recommended.

this may sound like a stupid question but where would you get the bottle refilled when its out? With both of the systems that you talked about do you purge the systems?

You get the bottle filled at any local speed shop if they do nos refills. Purging lets out the vaporous N2O so you have the liquid nitrous at the time of arm. It isnt really necessary but its nice to have.

When you buy your NOS kit it will come with a phone number to NOS where they can get your zip code and tell ya the closest place around ya to fill your bottle. It'll cost ya about $30 to get it filled. Like camaroracer said,a purge system is nice to have but not that important to have.

I am a huge fan of Nitrous Express products.
Their kits are exceptionaly well designed and complete.
The instructions are complete & super easy to understand (great for beginners).
They include large solenoids in their kits, good for HP upgrades.
Their bottle heater is controled by bottle pressure not just temperature. correct bottle pressure is the ultimate goal of a bottle heater, not temperature.
Their new remote bottle valve is the best out there.

They even have a handy-dandy nitrous refill station locator online.

Another question, will my stock fuel pump make it or will I need to get an aftermarket one? Electrical or machanical?

I wish I had 2¢ for every time I've read that question here. LOL

You should be fine with a stock pump up to around 125 HP of nitrous or so. If you haven't done any other mods that would tax the fuel system you might be ok up to 150 shot.

To be sure the fuel pump, filter, or any other fuel starvation problems don't rear their ugly head and destroy your engine install a fuel pressure safety switch. They are dirt cheap compared to the rest of the nitrous kit and nothing compared to the cost of an engine.

I plan on running a 100 shot of nitrous on my engine (check sig).

I am running a "master" stock replacement pump from advance. I am worried about fuel starvation so I am going to get a carb pickup and fuel lines and run a holley blue electric pump.

I'm probably gonna get a edelbrock nitrous system. Seems like a good buy.

I just bought the NOS 5151 TPI kit. I am jonesin' to put the thing on, but its not here yet. I am gonna start small @75hp and tune up to 150. I do not want to grenade anything because of stupidity on my part.
