Transmission: Manual th350 ATI 3000
Axle/Gears: 3.50 9"
Let me know what you think of my planned engine build
4 bolt 383 forged rotating assy
RHS 200 iron heads
Vortech v-1 s-trim (7-8 lbs of boost)
9:1 cr
cam undecided (awaiting response from comp)
performer rpm
super comp 1 3/4 headers
blow through mighty demon
msd distributor and 6al
snow performance water/meth injection
3" dual custom exhaust through dynomax super turbos
th400 or 350 trans stall 2800?
12 bolt rear with true trac
tires undecided
I currently have the supercharger, intake, meth inj, ignition, headers, and, mufflers.
I'm leaving right now to put a deposit on the short block to be built.
Aiming for a wild street car. Not a daily driver.
The engine builder has an engine dyno so I'll dyno it and post the results.
Think this is a good combo so far? The engine builder thinks so.

I would ditch the MSD 6AL and go with a crane box and crane 92 coil. It will light the fuel/air better. Everything else sounds good.

go with either CSU or C&S for the blow thru carb.
Get a MSD 6BTM for your ignition/boost retard needs
you need a boost referenced FPR
the rest sounds ok.

I have the BTM and a boost referenced fpr, barry grant makes a version of the mighty demon especially for blow through situations, but I forgot about the carb shop...i'll look into them.
Re: Let me know what you think of my planned engine build
Whomever you decide to use for a carburetor make sure you let them know whether you're using an enclosure or a bonnet. This will make a big difference in the carburetor calibration.

Re: Let me know what you think of my planned engine build
You know I didn't think about that. Thanks. Although right now I'm running a self modified holley and I didn't screw with anything fuel circuit wise, and it runs great except at part throttle, and it leaks fuel from the shaft.
Re: Let me know what you think of my planned engine build
If you haven't modified the baseplate to pressurize the throttle shafts, enclosing the entire carburetor in a box will eliminate that problem.
Also, different types of bonnets, and boost levels will change the carburetors tune-up.

I'd change to aluminum heads, so that you can run a few degrees more timing (besides saving 40 lbs off the nose of the car)... Going from 29 to 32 deg, I picked up 30 hp, at just 4 psi...

Re: Let me know what you think of my planned engine build
the only way to get the full effect from an ignition set up is to use all the same parts so all msd or crane for my twin turbo set up im using a MSD 6 BTM, msd-8226 dual connection coil, and MSD HEI distributor, that will be great. also if you are running a boosted application you need to drop the compression under 9. you cant have it that high. even that little bit can blow your motor. you cant run aluminium pistons you need forged. you are on the right track. cant wait to see the numbers.
