nitrous on a 305?
i was runnig this through my head and thought it was at least worth a try... is nitrous on a 305 even a consideration?.... with the right set up, is it plausable. i have the L69 which people say is a "high revving" engine, does this help the fact that it could handle n20?....if it can handle nitrous, what kind of shot?

Re: nitrous on a 305?
Have a good fuel pump, WOT switch etc...
Small shot would be fine with the proper peices to make it work.
Check my sig for a 305 tpi with nitrous

Re: nitrous on a 305?
A NOS Powershot will work well (125hp) Install new Champion #RV8C spark plugs gapped at .035". Use the best gas available 92+ octane. CHeck and reduce the ignition timing to 32deg total at high rpm. Make sure the fuel pressure going to the Fuel solenoid is 5.5-6psi "flowing". Best way to achieve this is to install a small 1 to 1.5 gallon fuel cell under hood and using 3/8" fuel line, A Carter #4594 fuel pump and holley #12-803 fuel pressure regulator and a fuel pressure guage. You must set the regulator to 5.5-6psi by flowing the system.
Rig up the nitrous plate with an extended fuel line so you can flow the fuel thru the plate into a bucket and adjust the fuel pressure regulator to the required pressure.
Follow this setup and you're good to go.
For maximum performance try this Nitrous Friendly http://store.summitracing.com/partde...2&autoview=sku
Crane Cam set.

Re: nitrous on a 305?
I'd do it. Just run a WOT switch and a good fuel pump, you don't wanna run outta fuel. IMO, a WS is also necessary...

Re: nitrous on a 305?
Only allows nitrous to be used in a "window", of RPM.
Say from 2500RPM ->5500RPM or something. Usually you use a WOT switch, so you have to be at WOT, and then a window switch means it won't come on at idle sorta thing, but only after you have hit 2500RPM say, to help with traction, then kills it off before redline so you don't blow the motor. Ask LB9GTA about that one

When I was on my last run of the year, I was pumpin' n2o and i hit the rev limiter.
The n2o should shut off before it hits the rev limiter

Re: nitrous on a 305?
I got the window switch coming on right before the converter starts moving the truck and it kills the nitrous 100rpms before the shift points...

Re: nitrous on a 305?
Of topic but what is a WOT switch????
Also what nitrous system would be the best to get with an automatic 700r4 car with a V8 TPI 305 LB9

Re: nitrous on a 305?
WOT= wide open throttle, that means that the nitrous will only turn on once you hit wOT
I used a zex dry nitrous system. It was easy to install and cheap $/hp.

Re: nitrous on a 305?
I've thought about getting the NOS GM EFI (TPI) kit currently offered on Jegs. The one with the throttle body plate... has anyone here had any experience with that one?
