Nitrous or supercharger??? 350 TPI

I am thinking of what I should do. This summer I am going to work alot and I want to know what I should do. With nitrous, I could get it and do some interior work (reupholster seats and new carpet), or I could supercharge it. I will have around 1500 and I would also like to know how much power I would be putting out with a 100-150 shot of nitrous, or a supercharger at 6-8 PSI. My mods are in my sig. I would get a used supercharger and rebuild it or something. My interior isn't horrible, so I could live with it for a while.

Do your interior and get your engine ready for nitrous/supercharger so you don't blow your motor. Then get nitrous/supercharger!

Or if you are already built up, go straight for some power

Do alot of research. You will find, that in order to really make your nitrous as safe and reliable as possible, it will cost you the same if not more than a super charger.

It depends though, there are pros and cons.

Save up money and sleep on it for a while, you will know what to do.

I could not DISAGREE any more witht that statement. Last i checked you get get everything for a nitrous setup For under 1000, and you dont need a tune. With a supercharger, you need injectors, a tune, fuel pump, not to mention the supercharger iteself, it will put you at least double that of a nitrous system.

Kit: $375 new
Warmer $60 new
Purge $60 new
FPSS: $40
Window switch: $80
N20 Guage : $150
Fuel pressure guage $150
Plugs : $20

Thats $935, add $30-40 to geta bottle filled, and you are ready to go.

Find me a supercharger alone for that price, not to mention everything else to go with it.

For a car thats not raced alot i would go nitrous.

What about the fuel system? You did not even mention that?

Did not even mention the price to refill your bottle constantly, and to constantly refurbish your solenoids so when you start your car it doesn't leak and make the car go BOOM.

Reread my post, as safe and reliable as possible. I guess if you do not include fuel, and constant refurbishing and checking, then perhaps you are one of those who "Sprays and prays" that your motor holds.

Re: Nitrous or supercharger??? 350 TPI

you dont need to upgrade your fuel system to run nitrous, nor do you need a tune. It would be smart but not necessary. Theres no way you could run boost on the stock fuel system, you'd never be able to get into it. Now if you're talking about maintaining and long term, nitrous will obviously cost more, solenoids need to be rebuild on the occasion and the bottle needs to be refilled, but we're talking about starting off. For just the ocassional trip to the track or fun run on the street, the nitrous is the way to go.

Re: Nitrous or supercharger??? 350 TPI

Again... I said Reliable and safe.

Who buys anything that is not long term. Even someone who uses nitrous only once a year wants to keep the kit for as long as possible.

So long term nitrous is much more expensive, thanks for agreeing.

It depends on your overall goal, but I would go with a 100-150 shot.

Jetted correctly and safe it will not give you any problems.

I would do a NX nozzle kit with a fuel pressure safety switch and window switch and have fun making more power than ya would with a bolt-on SC......

Yeah, I would go with a 100 hp shot to the rear wheels.
