Proper Activation of Nitrous, When? How long?
Here is the deal. I know how to properly setup my nitrous kit: However, I want to make sure my system is dummy proof and I need to know how to use it properly.
I am using a carb plate, wet kit fuel solenoid and N20 solenoid. Holley fuel pump, mallory AFPR, WOT Switch, and I will ultilize a 4psi minimum fuel pressure safety switch.
After I have it all setup, I need to know when I can use it.
I have a transgo shiftkit, so wen I drag race I shift manually to hold the gears past 5k, so basically after I reach 2k in first gear do I activate the arming switch and go ***** to the wall?
After I shift to second it will be past 2500-3000 rpms and so on for the other gears. So should I just arm it and shift normally?
Or should release the switch and switch it on again after every shift?

anything over 2-3k your good to hit it.
how long you keep it activated is upto you.
base if off how your car acts. and adjust from there. If you hold it while you shift and you get all sideways etc. Id let off the juice and hit it again if needed.
Or invest in a progressive controller so you can tailer it all in on a time based setup.

Well I mean my foot never leaves the gas pedal, so leaving it activated while stomping would make the car go sideways? Hmm...

Especially with a shift kit, it could get a little snakey on ya during shifts. Heck my little n/a 357 gets snakey during shifts and i dont even have nitrous lol.
but like TPI383 said, you just gotta try it out and see what works!
Maybe for the first few runs take it easy on the juice just to get the feel of it then try going flat out with it. Just gotta be cautious though, the last thing you want to do is put the car into the wall!

Never spray below 3k unless you want to see the intake go boom. Also judging by your stock cam and motor combo, even with a 150 shot it shouldn't be going nuts on you while shifting, get some quality slicks and work on your suspension and it'll be fine.

My suspension should be quite okay minus the tires.

You will have to floor it from a stop and see where the tach jumps to when the bottle hits. My 3500 stall converter jumps to 4500 on a 175 shot and my window switch is set from 3000-6500.
Since you have a 2600 stall, the converter should flash to 3600 or so on the bottle, so you should be fine.

Well if it were me I'd spray the car about 6 inches out...... er wait I do
.But my car also has a 2800 stall in it too though which flashes to 4k on a 150 shot.Which helps when I can spray sooner.
