street car went 9.7 and 147mph
street car went 9.7 and 147mph
here are a couple pictures, should have a video soon.
Tires are hoosier DRs and still have the kyb gr2 shoks/struts on it.
Never got a clean pass out of my 4 attempts.
My tach fell in my lap on my one run so just guessed on the shifting. Next pass just about turned the car around on the 1-2 shift and still went 10.1@145
Best time was a 9.7ET best mph was 147.8
Next time my boost is going up 5 pounds to 25psi

Re: street car went 9.7 and 147mph
Well with my old converter which was too loose for the combination, i was able to dip 1.49 on the foot brake down in maryland. But most of my runs back then were in the mid higher 1.5's which I thought was pretty decent considering it leaves with no boost, and comes on very quickly.
Now my latest runs with the new converter (much tighter than before but still pretty loose) in warmer weather, I was doing mid high 1.6's with a best of 1.62 so far. I think it will get back in the mid 1.5's once I work on the tune some more.
On ET streets not drag radials. I want to get back to running drag radials. Probably a 305/18 size but considering a 295/17 depending on the wheels I want to run. Going to try to find a pair of 18" C6 wheels and painting them competition gray to match my current C6's. No one makes a 19x10 drag radial so I want to go 18's to match the front 18's.
I wish you were closer to PRP so we can line up and do some good passes. Fun to see a set of thirdgens going this fast.

What size DR's?
any newer pictures of the engine setup? What are you using for an intercooler?

That one pic of the car leaving looks so much harder than a 1.64 60 foot
The radials look like they are working well

Re: street car went 9.7 and 147mph
DRs are 335-35-17
cooler is an a/a 4" ebay cooler cost about $200 new
I'm surprised it only did a 1.64 it does look like its leaving harder in that photo.
I have the video on quik time and it won't upload to this site. I tried to convert it to windows media player but no go.

Now that's what i'm talking about. Great job. I would be willing to bet with a tbrake you'll be in the 9.5-9.3 range. Great job. Your an inspiration to the rest of us and help break the Turd-Gen stereotype.

Re: street car went 9.7 and 147mph
Its ok. I like the left lane better than the right lane. Tech guys seem cool. My car isnt 9 second legal but they didnt give me grief when i was running those times. Majority of my times are 10.0-10.2 so that is legal for my setup. However i'm well over 135mph and thats not suppose to be legal for just an 8 pt cage. Havent had any crap over it.
Layout isnt bad either. Sometimes it gets crowded and they run through cars slow, so you may only end up getting few runs in per night. T&T's this year are thursdays until like october when it goes to saturdays at noon. I hope to hit up the track again in september if possible, or else wait til october and go saturdays.

Great ET man... I knew my motor had enough
Get it dyno'd yet? I have no doubt you'll run quicker
I sent you a PM with my email addy..email me with updates when you get a chance. Only came here to read your post. Next up for me is a C4 Vette with a 91-94mm turbo..same engine like I sold you, except a little more radical
you running E-85 or gas?
