NOS kit and a '91 Trans Am GTA

I have recently just ordered a NOS kit with a 10lb bottle and a purge kit for my '91 Trans Am GTA. I have a question about installing it.

I want to keep the bottle and switches pretty well hidden so that if I do get pulled over, a cop doesn't see it (just to avoid any difficulties). I am thinking of installing the switches in the console. The problem I think for me will be hiding the bottle. Attached is an image of the hatch area.

What is the best way from what you all can see to hide the bottle?

Thanks,
Brandon

Spare tire well, or in the storage compartment well.

Well i want to be able to get to it easily but out of reach and out of "plain" sight...getting to the storage well would be hard with my sub box fitted in there.

put a electric bottle opener on it and put it in the tire well if you don't want anyone to see it. Thats the only way you could 'hide' it with the subs there

yea i am thinking of putting it there or trimming out the lock box in the hatch area and putting it there so i have a door to it. i am new to nitrous and knowing that, i have a question. Does the nitrous bottle need to be tilted or can it be vertical?

It can be vertical as long as the pickup tube is pointing down and torwards the rear...in other words the outlet nut has to be towards the rear.

Just wondering, but why is that? and by rear, you mean rear of the car or the bottle?

[IMG][/IMG]Real simple and I plan to do so even though N20 is legal in Wisconsin. Buy a cheap gymbag and cut bottom out and stuff with your old clothing. Inside lying hidden is bottle....

Re: NOS kit and a '91 Trans Am GTA

Once i install my kit, will i need to do anything to be able to run a 100-shot immediately? The motor was rebuilt about 4k miles ago; it was bored .030 over, received a larger lunati cam, and headers were put on it. Will I be safe with a 100-shot or should I go ahead and buy a set of jets to start out with lower shots?

Re: NOS kit and a '91 Trans Am GTA

My NOS brand came with a series of jets. I am going to start with smallest shot which I believe to be 50 HP and work my way up. I happen to have a WB02 sensor and my ECU allows "on and off" based upon rpm window and "on" over certain mph.

If I wired correctly may do first one this week.

bottle positioning is recommended by mfg but can place almost anywhere.

Don't start at 100. I started at 75 and went up from there.

Aside from the bottle, noids, relays, lines, and nozzle, you will need: colder plugs (i started with 6's, now i'm on 7's), purge, filter, WOT switch, window switch, and a timing device. Oh and a thick pair of leather gloves to pull plugs lol.

For timing and window switch get a Mallory 685.

You can look at my thread in the power adder section, describes everything i did https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/powe...completed.html
