Hello i have a 92 camaro with a carbuerated 350bored 30 over engine and was wondering if i could use a weiand supercharger without having to change to forged internals. Thanks for any help.

 

you can, but if your tune is not PERFECT your going to hurt your motor. It's all in the tune, and with cast internals there is very little room for error

 

Low boost or a good tune on 6-7 PSI is possible with a stock bottom end. I'd suggest at least moly rings and if it was me I'd do rings and pistons.

The rings are usually the first things to go when you fight a mild case of detonation.

 

I've been running a 142 supercharger with low boost for years on a stock motor.
I don't know how much boost I'm running running the pulley that came with the kit from summit.

 

Good rule of thumb is not to go over 500hp on a stock small block bottom end.

Correct. Lots of members on this board run everything from turbo's to nitrous on stock bottom end with good, reliable results.

 

depends.. if the engine has been worked on, whats the new comp ratio? if it was a stock build you probably could get away with a little boost on cast internals. if you have alittle higher compression, i personally wouldn't.
