time for a turbo?

So after putting much thought into it I think I have decided upon twin turboing my gta. I managed to have a 355 sitting around so that will he the motor if choice. I have a small collection of things to get things rolling but I can't decide upon headers. A kid I work with gave me some turbo headers which will need slight modifications to work. Tho I work at a metal fab shop it wouldn't be hard to mod them, so I am at a loss there, and yes eventually will be fabbing some myself once I get a permanent garage.
I plan on using a pair of 57mm t3 t4 hybrids and thanks to summit racing ill be using the professional products fuel injection . I think I most of everything figured out. But one thing is where should I put the oil return lines? Most people say oil pan or fuel pump block off plate. And some even say to the back of the valve covers. But from what I understand its more or less a gravity thing right? I hope to get this project underway soon. Hopefully with little screwups as possible. Any and all info or criticism is welcome.

Just use the oil pan for the return lines and be done with it, trust me....

Re: time for a turbo?

If you use valve covers you have to run the turbos up pretty high to allow for drain back into the valve cover. This may stick out hood. Check Project89's build here, 89 camaro with twin 57's with turbos up by the valve covers. Thats about as high as you can go without cutting the hood and I dont think he has room to drain to the cover.

As said above, just run to the oil pan. Put it on a main cap location.

Re: time for a turbo?

bigger is better when it comes to gravity drains.. -10 AN size should do, I think thats about 5/8" diameter

if you have them meet, I'd step up to a -12 or -14 line and thats harder to fine. Depends on where you mount the turbos its likely easier to do 2 holes, one each side of the pan

Re: time for a turbo?

The forecast is for rain, I hope i can get motor dropped in, I think it would be smart to break her in before I put the turbos in so it don't get all that junk.
