I got a few pics of this on sat at the atlantic city car show.
Callaway twin turbo, intercooled TPI vette. #69 of 69 made.
Pretty slick setup, the intercooler are vented right through two hood scoops directly above them.
Couldn't see much on what was down there for headers, and the damn turbos themselves were pretty hidden..

I too, just got back from the Vette Museum last month & have a Bunch of pictures of the turbo motor that they have there & of the Callaway cars that they had. One of them looks like this one & I got as good a shots as I could w/o getting kicked out of thier precious museum. the other one (the SledgeHammer) did not have the hood up. I checked but the doors were locked & they would not open it up for me.
If anyone is interested I can post them, but it would likely be faster to email them to someone else to do.

I used to drag race with a guy at sears point back in 93 that had two of these things. one of them was the chopped top model seen in some of the first BFG comp TA ZR adds it was a violet pinkish purple. his other was red and fitted with a cage and race seats and harnesses so he could race it on the road course there. he was the first guy I saw that actually had an driver seat electronic adjustable boost (wastegate controller) he would turn it down to "stun" so he would not go faster than 10.99 (NHRA rule on IRS cars) he would just go 11.10 all day on his slicks. he said she would go 10.80's all day set on "kill" when he and his friends rented the track. as you could guess it was no stock L98 shortblock.

There was a guy stationed here in Hawaii that had one of the 1987 twin turbo Callaway's. He just left in Jan but in December he just about totaled it!! Was driving in the rain and came into a tunnel on the Haunted Highway "H3" and hit a slick spot inside the tunnel. He went 90 degrees toward the wall, went up the wall about 6 feet then slammed back down on the road. If his wife and buddy werent farther behind him a semi would have plowed into him probably. Bad thing is he was only doing 45 because there was a cop right in front of him in a SS camaro. The cops out here are allowed to purchase a vehicle to use as their duty car, with two requirements:
1. It has to be a V8 and,
2. It has to be American made.
I've seen all kinds of police cars out here, from jeeps to rustangs to cadillacs?? Even saw a Vette, think he was the chief or something??
Anyway, back to the topic, those Callaway TT Vettes rock!
Later,
Steve
