I'm not real sure on the specifics of blow off valve operations but here goes.....
A blow off valve is a valve that when under vacuum is open. When boost builds the valve closes and allows everything to work as normal. When you let off the gas suddenly (like when driving a stick) the throttle plate closes and all that air from the turbo has nowhere to go. The bov opens and allows the air from the turbo to escape. If the bov wasn't there all the air would bounce off the closed throttle plate, come back and stall the compressor or worse. Cars with auto's don't need these as bad as manual cars do. With manuals you'd kill boost between shifts without one, but with autos since you never let up they do fine. Someone else will probably give a better explanation.

click on the search key in your upper right hand side of this screen, pick the power adder section, and type in BOV or blow off valve and watch your computer explode.
so does any one wanna tell me the difference between turbo charge and super charge? I think one used air from intake and one use's exhaust air but i am not sure. Which one is easier to install and which one is CHEAPER

Are you asking for the difference between a turbocharger and a supercharger? First off, do some research. Go to howstuffworks.com and check these things out. Search the board. Search on yahoo. Just research, you'll learn a lot.
Now that thats outta the way.......
A turbocharger is a turbine driven by exhaust gases. A supercharger is belt driven.

go to amazon dot com and look up books on both.

Ok, you can use bov on superchargers and turbochargers, you don't really need one til your boost gets above a certain level. A supercharge will be far easier and cheaper to install, turbo's can offer a much higher performance level. And Finally a supercharger is driven by a belt off the crank and a turbocharger is driven by exhaust gasses. Other than that check out the books they reccomended.
