i disagree.

it's not that hard to proofread your post before you post it.

also, the spell check is another thing to load up every time you go to post.

are we really getting that lazy to where we need a spell checker?

hell, if anything, open up word (or any other word processor) and use their spell checker.

It's very necessary because many people are unsure of the spelling of their own name... Maybe we can get a grammar checker also so people don't not need no schoolin or nuthin to sound edumicated Unfortunately a spell check is necessary because you see posts where every other word including "the" or "I" is spelled wrong. I blame Canada.

Why blame Canada? Is it because of our astonishing intellect or superlative good looks?

I agree with robert's disagreement. I'll back up any of his points because I agree with all of them.

LOL @ tpi_roc.

If anything, I still say to use the spell checker of a word processor such as word or wordperfect (anyone still use wordperfect?) Also, if you're really bored, you could do a web search and learn all the ways to trick the microsoft word spell checker into displaying some goofy sh*t.

I honestly don't know if it's addition would be useful.

Wait, I graduated high school with people who cannot read a clock or watch with hands. (in other words, watches with digital displays were always worn) Always a blast to ask them what time it was.

me: "what time is it?"
friend: " 1:15, dude"
me: "ah, quarter after 1"
friend: "wtf?"

I need some more prodding before I'm convinced we need a spell checker.

And for the record, no, I am not from Canada. The girl from Canada who skated in the olympics (2002) I thought was really good looking I'm from ohio, lol. I blame it on this goofy weather we've been having.

You must be Canadian to use wordperfect. Only patriotic Canadians still use that program.

Don't you think if the person was smart enough to use Word or Works to spell check then they wouldn't really need it for spelling? Just a thought or should I say thawt

I don't want spell check. Seeing how people spell and produce grammar lets you know a bit about them, which can be useful when helping/laughing at them.

I don't think we need it. Sure, I saw a post where "dome light" was "doam light", but it's kinda amusing sometimes.

If you aren't certain on the spelling of a word, use a word processor and check it or use a synonym. Okay, bad idea... then people will be asking for a thesaurus instead of a spell check

Yes that's very true. I use Dictionary.com to check for spelling when I forget what the spelling is. I usually am online either before I got to bed or when I wake up so I'm asleep most of the time when I post so for me spell checking would be usefull in my case. I really it is expensive from what I hear and most of the time everyone knows what I'm talking about even if I misspell a work so I don't worry about it that much.

For my spell check I have the Google toolbar. www.google.com When I want to check a word i search on it. If I spell it wrong it gives a suggestion as to what you were trying to search for.

The search bar is actually a useful idea. I can usually just read over someone's post, and decipher what they are trying to say, unless the spelling is really butchered.

I am completely lost with out my google toolbar if I am sitting at a new computer. I just wish there was a way to get the result to come up in a new window. It clutters up the toolbar but I usually have IE open at least 10 times or more.

Spell Checker would be handy. I have seen it added to other sites where you can just click if you want the spell check option for each post. At least that way we can seem like we are a little bit better edgeyoukatted.

There's a cool thought, twist. How about having it as an option under the user's control panel? That way, it only loads for you if you want it to.

Well as people said in a way it would be good and a way it would be bad .
Good= People would stop making rude comments about your spelling
Bad= You would not be able to make fun of peoples spelling. not say I do but it for the other people.
And It would just make to many problems got me.
Well lata:lala:
