arizona doesn't practice daylight savings time. as a result, they are 2 hours behind for us on the east coast during the winter, and 3 hours during the summer.

that's the reason it isn't changed, because dirk hosts the site in arizona.

the time difference threw me off too, but now i'm used to it

Are you serious, they don't do DST in Arizona? I've never heard of that

Cause AZ is better than most states
I lived there for three years and I loved the state and the fact that I never had to worry about changing the stupid clocks.

it confused the hell out of me when my cousin explained it to me.

i loved it out there, didn't want to come back to ohio.

if i could ever move out there, i'd do it. no questions asked.

actually, i was pleasantly surprised, andy.

their 100* with 5% humidity didn't feel as bad as our 90 degree with 90% humidity.

don't get me wrong, it's hot. hot enough to burn someone pretty badly if they're not careful. but it's not suffocating like the really hot humid heat.

plus, it would be really cool to drive the camaros year-round with the tops out.

hmm... it'll be two years in july since i was there. mebbe i should go back for another 2 weeks.

Yeah, that would be the only reason I'd move somewhere hot. I'd love to be able to have the tops off year round. And also, no salt.

And you guys missed a really nice gathering we had here last weekend. We got to cruise at 8 pm with the tops off in early April!

We had about 50 Camaros and Firebirds (mostly 4th gen) show up for dinner and the cruise.

We dont do DST. I was up at 5:45 this morning and the sun was already coming up. IIRC, AZ and IL are the only two states in the lower 48 that do not do any sort of DST. Makes it nice for us. More sun year round.

If any of you guys want to come down for some sun, let me know. I have an extra room that I could "rent" out.

Hmm I must be the only one that liked DST, I get an extra hour of sunlight in the afternoon to work on my shop But loosing that extra hour of sleep sucked.

HOLY CRAP I hate Ohio. I went to MI for my great grandmas 100th bday and we went to ceader point one day. It was 87 and 82%, I wanted to kill myself. I was sweating worse than ever. Also, I dont know if anyone has noticed, but there are quite a few uglies in Ohio.
When I lived in AZ I had my 96 Z28 Ttops and I loved it. Just like 88aziroc said, you can go cruisin with your tops off at almost anytime most of the year. It is only "hot" for about 3.5 months, the rest is flat out gorgeous weather.

tom:

next time i'm out there, i'd like to make it down that way and see tuscon. i saw the photos from said gathering.

yeah, i don't like it here at all. weather is too crazy, and not many good females around here.

the savings time doesn't bother me at all. i don't sleep much either way

yeah, i forgot to mention the no salt.....

plus, i like to golf. lots of beautiful golf out there.

Opps, sorry I forgot the other two.

Robert,

Anytime. Come on out, but............I will only be here for a few more months. I am going to be moving to San Antonio around July. Cant wait, as that is home for me.

The females in AZ and TX are GREAT! Although I am married, that does not mean I can't look! Hope my wife doesn't read this.

yeah, it'll be awhile before i'm able to come back out.... probably not until after i'm 21, and can rent a car, stuff like that. the lack of a job right now doesn't help matters, either.

females are good to look at

hey tom, think we can get a thumbsup smiley?

No problem, Rob. Always glad to help. That is what we mods do, right?

That's what you get for being on those other boards. I dont even post on the others anymore.

You just let me know when you want to come out and I will make sure you have a place to stay. I always have an extra room for vistiors, so no need for a hotel. If you have never been to TX, you are really missing some good times. I can not wait to get back and get the third gen scence going.
