the problem is i never changed my email nor did i click on the link.

i checked my account last night and nothing had changed. i had not been able to post or start new threads or pm anybody since i recieved the email. i emailed the webmaster twice and also emailed dirk a few days ago, but no responce.

today i loged on to check for any changes and found that my account had deffinantlly been tampered with. my sig said several profanities and homosexual things in nature, as a link to a pornografic picture.

what i need help with is my account straitned up.

i am pretty sure i know who did this, one or two of my freinds who use the same computer who thought it would be funny to screw with my account, and they have done this before, but caught it before anyone seen it.


please fix my problem

I have the same problem with my "alloy" account. I purposely changed my email notifaction address so I could actually get my email notices, and now I can't verify my alloy account so I can use it. I getthe same error message that you are getting. I have begged and pleaded for the admins to fix it but no one ever responds to my messages.

I've pm'd and emailed both brad and dirk for several weeks now and they will not respond. So, don't hold your breath.

 

i have been talking to a mod and he is trying to fix the problem. my problem is a couple people thought it would be funny to tamper with my account and change my email address. well they succeded in screwing up my account because they never replyied to the email verification. you should have gotten an email stating you needed to verify like the one above.

I did get the email, and the link does not work.

And, a mod can't fix it I'm told. An admin has to do it.

not to rush anyone or anything, but i have not gotten any repsonce about my @ZZKKER account problems. i would like to clear this up pretty soon as i have some updates and pics i would like to post in the coming weeks.

it has been over a week and still no word. if dirk or whoever is to busy to deal with such problems, then mabee he needs to promote someone who is on more often so they can deal with these issues.

Sorry man, theres nothing I can to. I'm waiting on someone to get their Admin powers, which means we have to wait for Dirk to teach them how to use all the Admin stuff.

 

i don't mean to hi-jack this thread, but learning the admin tools in vB isn't difficult at all, unless you start getting into the templates, then you better know PHP and how mysql works.

i admin a vB board for a national car club and i've sent Dirk a few notices about things that can be done with vB (hacks) to make this a better place, not to mention fixing issues like this should only take a few minutes, not days/weeks. i don't blame the two admins, as they obviously are busy with their life. But i never get any type of reply, and giving some others the tools do handle things sure would be an improvement for this site.

 

There are only a few "super mods" beyond the admins who can do neat stuff like fix accounts and un-ban people. The board software isn't really difficult to use, though, so anyone appointed, provided they have some modicum of computer savvy should be able to figure it out.

Anyway... Why not just use your new account name to post with?

 

I forgot about Super Mods. I don't know if they have the power to help you, but PM one of them (Tom Keliher or JPrevost)

 

Yeah, if they have access to the admin panel (last option for that user group), they can do anything/everything that the admin group can do.

 

well it is the 10th of august, and guess what everyone, my account is still not fixed. and since brad and dirk are the only ones who can fix it so i have been told, i have to wait on there asses to make it around to fixing it. this is bull crap

i would like lbrohez and 95z34 banned for messin up my account. they have admitted to messin with it, and would like them banned for it.

Super Mods can't do it, they only have the power to moderate all boards.

As for your account and banning those members, I'll PM you with someone you can talk to about it all.

 

I am sorry that your account is messed up. But the fact that you couldn't remember (and still can't remember) to log off this website from a computer that isn't yours and is used by several different people makes me feel less and less sorry by the day. I mean come on now i had to log you out to make this post. I thought you would have learned by now. Think about it if you would have logged off that day you would not be having this problem now.

 

i had nothing to do with trying to change your email thank you very much, and its not like you would ever be on the internet if you werent at my house to use it, and using my digital camera to take pictures of the stuff you are complaining about not being able to post,

Dirk has time to "train" people how to do it, which is very easy, yet he cant take the 5 minutes it would take to change someones sig and registered e-mail.

This board wants us to be perfect role model people, yet its Admins can literally do nothing for us it seems.

 

i cant remember but i think by default SMs didnt have access to the control panel unless that option was changed, if it was, then they can do just about everything and anything that an Admin can do, sans a few trivial rules/regulations that the Admins are exempt from (PM limit, etc.). This of course is provided that SMs are aware of the URL to the admin control panel.

If the two Admins are too busy and the SMs can't do it as you say, i dont know who you are going to recommend he can talk to. Unless the person has mysql access, not a lot can be done.

 

The problem is that Dirk doesn't have the time to do it or show some1 how to yet. The last month or 2 has been a very busy time for him.

 

Some dont need to be shown. Some just need access and given some trust (which is probably the harder part).

 

Even if some1 knew what they were doing Dirk would wanna talk to/know them 1st or whatever and not just let them in the Admin Cp.

 

i just wanted to say this is but why can't you just use your @ZZKKER 2 account for now?

 

i did not originally intend for this to be a bitch secion. but if it were my fault for the account not working, i would not have a problem waiting for it to get fixed, but when it is tamperd with, you could understand. as for me not logging out, if it is a case for people not having enough repect not to mess with it then so be it, and this was not the first time. as for blame, 95z34 is the one who tryed to change the email account and lbrohez is the one who changend the signiture. so both are to blame.

that is my explanation, and proper action should be taken.
