Something has to be done about the Classifieds

I am not complaining about any personal selling experience, this is just an observation.

Everyday when I check the parts for sale or cars for sale boards, its the same thing; someone posts something for sale and half a dozen idiots start bashing the hell out of seller about the price. This is not the intent of these boards!

Heres a prime example:

https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=332435

People have the right to charge whatever they want for anything (thirdgen related) they want. I think we need to either switch the classifieds back to the old format, or have mods pruning the insults and junk out of these boards.

This site is very strict about keeping posts decent and relevant, why is the classifieds section a free for all?

Thanks,
Colin

It is not a free-for-all. I am one of the mods of the classified boards, and we do our best to keep it clean. When you see something like this, please report the post instead of posting about it here. When you report a post, it sends an email to all the mods of that board.

Thanks!

I was not aware that the board was moderated, so I posted here because I thought it was the best way to address the issue. Please do not take offence. Thanks for the info, I'll use the report feature in the future.

I see where your coming from 85. But I think half the reason people do the flaming is because they dont want to see someone get screwed. And personally I think when people just come here to sell stuff like the post you added. I think we should add a minimum posting for selling stuff. ls1tech has a 50 post minimum.

I was pushing for this before Dirk went on sabbatical. It's not going to happen so don't even bother worrying about it.

85, no offense taken. Trust me, you have to have thick skin to be a mod on this site.

I would also like to see a minimum post count before being able to place any ads. On one hand, I think that would just fill up the tech board with garbage. On the other, it may help cut down on people just trying to scam others.

The way I look at it is, if you are a Junior Member, joined 3 days ago, and have 0 posts, I will not buy from you.

People do want to try and "protect" other members from being ripped off, but flaming is not the way to do it. I took the liberty to delete the "flames" on the above thread.

To all:

Feel free to report any post that you think is inappropriate.
